I thought this would be a cleansing balm as in makeup remover, and it does remove makeup but it doesn’t emulsify fully when water is added. So, it does take extra rinsing and a hot washcloth to remove all residue. It is an effective makeup remover. But I prefer one that rinses clean easily.

I was in the market for more makeup remover, I usually just buy micellar cleansing water from Garnier, but I wanted to try something else; however, I didn't want to drop more than twenty dollars. When I saw the coupon Amazon was offering on this product, I thought, why not? Does it work? Yes, very much so. The scent is strong, probably my least favorite aspect of this product, so I deducted one star. Also, so there are no surprises, when I received the product the outside of the container was oily, not necessarily a deal breaker though. A quick wipe with a wipe took care of that problem.With that said, it really is effective in taking off makeup. For reference, I usually apply a minimal amount of foundation, some blush, and mascara. I have sensitive skin, and was worried that this would break me out like it did another reviewer. To my pleasant surprise, this did not break me out, yay. The directions were very straight forward, take the included spatula and scoop some product out and massage onto face. When done, rinse with warm water. To be honest, for me, this was really about how good this product was at taking water-proof mascara off. I wear Tarte's waterproof mascara and with micellar water it's something I dread taking off. Even with little eye makeup removing wipes, both items always leave my eyes stinging or my vision blurry from rubbing my eyes too much. Anyway, when I used this product, I just rubbed a bit of the product on my lashes and I rinsed. At first I was skeptical, did this really take the mascara off? I took an eye makeup remover wipe and did a once over, to my surprise it did take all of the mascara off and left no residue! The rest of my face felt very clean too, I was very happy with this product's performance.This is my first time using a balm, so I can't offer comparisons to other balms that are on the market. However, if you are looking for a kinda cheap-ish cleansing balm, I would give this product a try. At first, I was a bit disappointed by the size, but seeing how much I use on a daily basis, I'm certain this product will last a few months for me. If you wear a full face of makeup, I'm uncertain how long this will last. I can only speak from a very light-coverage point of view.I've included some pictures one next to my makeup sponge to give an idea of how big the product is. It looks small but a little goes a very long way!

I previously used a much more expensive product that literally does exactly what this does, so I'll be using this from now on! The smell is lovely, it goes on smoothly and rinses off VERY WELL which I was at first concerned about. It removes makeup and dirt and leaves my skin very soft. Many people don't realize that using soaps strips very needed oils off of your skin (and makes your skin product more) so using an oil-based product like this is MUCH Better.

This is an updated review from my first one. At first this remover was great. I was using it to remove my eye and facial makeup. But after using it for about 2 to 3 weeks I started to get really bad chin acne and I'm in my 50s. It was really bad. When I stopped using it the chin acne stopped also. It had to be this remover that caused the bad acne. I wouldn't recommend using it on your face because of this. .

This stuff is awesome! It smells really good and spreads really easily so a little bit does your whole face. It completely emulsifies your makeup so it rinses right off. Makeup removers and remover wipes normally make my eyes burn really bad but this doesn’t at all. I’m pretty sure I actually got some in my eye and it didn’t burn. I’m really really happy with this!

Omg I love love this stuff! Highly recommend! I've been using about a week now and my skin feels so soft. It smells divine too. I'm going to keep buying it and probably their whole line as well. Do yourself a favor and get it!
