The torch shipped to me does not light the flame from a camp size propane tank when pressing the igniter like others had reported. I have to use another cheap butane lighter to quickly start the flame. It works as expected once the torch’s flame is started by my butane lighter. This torch is too expensive to not be able to light itself.EDIT:I was in the wrong when I first submitted this review. I hastily tried to ignite this thing without reading the instructions, which states to turn on the gas at the lowest level while igniting. I have successfully started the flame many times with this procedure since my first failed attempt where I think I probably turned the gas much higher than instructed. Definitely a really good product, so I have changed this review from 1 start to 5.

Seriously, I love this thing. It throws a flame with adjustable strength and is well made. It wasn't enough of a seal to make me return it but, the clicker to light it has never worked. I use a grill lighter. Other than that, I love it. No need for lighter fluid and is perfect to Brown sous vide steaks.

This torch is amazing! I’d been hunting for a torch of this type to sear my steaks that I fix sous vide. It does the job much better than I had expected. Compared to may others available though Amazon, this one has to be the absolute best value for the money. I find myself running to the kitchen and grabbing this tool for many other things. It does a great job firing up my wood stove and fire place. I’ve even used it for small weed spots on my driveway when I don’t want to drag out the 20lb bottle and much larger torch.There is a slight learning curve to getting it fired up but that’s also the case with torches three times the price. Expect the brand stickers on the sides to peel off rather quickly but that was not a big deal for me and I haven’t missed them.I highly recommend it and I’ll be ordering a couple more soon as Christmas gifts for my friends who also sous vide. Grab one for yourself. You will not regret it.

I was excited to try this new touch on some steaks. Set it up and it did not work. There is no spark to ignite the flame. I went back to Amazon and could not find anyway to contact the seller. The seller advertised there’s a 2 year warranty, but it’s useless if there is no way to contact the company or seller. I’d recommend not buying this torch and find one that has seller information and good customer service. I’ll be returning this one to Amazon.

This is one of 2 torches I seen sold on Amazon that looked like a gun. It works great , huge flame, it was a hit at our cookout. It won't stand up on its own, but comes with a stand that works great

Works great. Super powerful flame (hard to see unless you really crank up the flow). Bought this to sear and caramelize food on the grill. Nice way to finish up BBQ sauce on ribs in the pellet cooker. Doesn't take long! Also used this to start coals in a Little Smokey grill. Happy with this purchase.

You know you want it. Looks cool, seems like fun. It's all of those. I use it for finishing my sous vid meals, lighting bonfires, burning the burn pit. The thing that made it even better was a hose extension so I don't have the bottle hanging off the bottom like a giant green dingleberry.

This works super well with our sous vide. Fantastic for putting a sear on meat, or firing a glaze on foods like a ham. Like a mini flame-thrower, it's awsome :)

This torch worked perfectly for lighting my smoker. The problem I have is with the igniter it takes multiple strikes to light and I feel that as the unit ages it'll stop working. It can easily be lit with a lighter but that defeats the purpose no?

In what used to take 10-15 minutes to light the coals on the BBQ now takes under a minute.Bonus-Looks really cool lighting up the coals with this portable flame thrower.
