I almost didn't buy this product because the photo shows a misshapen and poorly made product. Now that I have the product in hand, the apparent defect is explained by the fact that the photo was taken with the product under its plastic wrap as you would find hanging in a store. Remove the plastic and the part looks and works perfectly. Even came with new screws. Make sure your router base has three ((3) holes as that's what this base piece has too.

What can you say. It was identical to the original (it should be) so it works just like it.

When I dropped my brand new router, I was pretty disappointed when I found the sub base broken. Thankfully it wasn’t a very expensive fix. Product came as described, it is a true OEM part and shipping was fast.

I decided to buy the Rockler Dovetail Jig and a while I was at it a new router. I chose the Porter-Cable model 892 because it had more features that would make using it more enjoyable.However, the base on that router is clear and the opening is 2-1/2”. The guide bushing that came with the Dovetail Jig simply wouldn’t fit into that base.This baseplate fits the Porter-Cable 892 and accommodates the Guide Bushing perfectly.Problem solved. Yea!It seems to be a very good quality, actually stiffer than the clear base that came with the router. For only $10 and delivered the next day, it was a cheap remedy.

Replace broken base

I purchased this part thinking that it would be ok for my porter cable router since I wanted a new plate to mount my brass inlay tool into. The center hole has (4) rectangular mold marks that protrude into the hole making it impossible to mount a brass bushing assembly for an inlay tool. Will need to Dremel out the hole for a proper fit. Also, the 6 surrounding holes for viewing also have a portion of each hole blocked by a linear protrusion that limits some of the viewing area, (you can see these features in the product picture). All in all, this plate might work as a replacement for those who do not care about 100% visibility or for inserting bushings. Aside from that, these features could be Dremeled out, quality seems like an original part, does not appear to be cheap material.

There is not much to say. It arrived quickly. It fits the router. The router takes a half inch shank but the holes won’t spin a large bit. The screws fit but they should be pan head and not Phillips tapered as supplied.
