It can get addictive...
After reading a number of reviews around the web about the benefits of using a neti pot, I started shopping around my city. I mostly found plastic neti pots, which were flimsy and cheap-looking. I quickly realized that ceramic was the only way to go (wouldn't leak weird synthetic materials into the water, quicker drying, etc). The only ceramic neti pot around was at my local natural goods store, and it was sixty (!) dollars. So I turned my attention to Amazon. This neti pot was everything I wanted: ceramic, simple design, and priced very reasonably. It arrived at my house about 4 days after I ordered it, and I can say that I couldn't be happier with the results. It holds one cup of water - after adding 1/4 tsp of non-iodized salt, it is ready to go. It only took a moment for me to get over the strange feeling of your sinus cavity being filled with water (think dunking your head underwater and water goes up your nose). The results are amazing - after the first use, I could feel my sinuses clear and felt less resistance inhaling through my nose. I used it again last night before bed and even now, in the next afternoon, I can still feel the difference. I think this will soon become a part of my normal hygenic routine.NOTE: I did some reading and learned that you should only use either distilled water or water that has boiled for 5-7 minutes (and then cooled, obviously). Some users reported terrible infections using ordinary tap water, and having bacteria introduced into their sinuses... that said, if you're thinking about a neti pot, this is a great product.

i Prefer This Style And Construction - Nice Product - Just Use It Safely
Years ago I used to get very nasty sinus infections several times a year. I kept reading about Neit Pots so I thought I would try one. Wow, what a difference, instead of being on antibiotics several times a year, I haven't been on one since for a sinus infection. This has been for 15 or more years! Now it is a part of my daily hygene just like brushing my teeth. You know the feeling you have if you leave the house without brushing? That's the same way I am with this. It gets packed on trips and I keep one in our travel trailer. One note, make sure the water you use is clean and has been heated. Especially in the southern states where the amoeba called Naegleria fowleri can cause brain infections. It is found in dirty water and some tap water in the south. Very rare and apparently not found in the north (it likes warm water). Best to use distilled water (warm it in the microwave) or boiled tap water. Of course you can get this bateria swimming etc. Also, like anything else, keep the neti pot clean. All this sounds like a great hassle, but these are minor items that don't take much time. The relief you get will likely be well worth the effort. Although I have used plastic verisons in the past, I like the Ceramic verision the best. I feel like it is easier to keep clean etc. Just don't drop it in the sink! I have lost a couple over the years that way. It is easy to hook your finger over the handle so this won't happen. I make my own saline mix; 1 part baking soda and one part non-iodine table salt. You can play with the mix if need be, you shouldn't feel any discomfort. As a matter of fact, I think it feels good.

Himalayan Neti Pot really works - helped with my allergies!
I was put off by the term "Neti Pot" some how it sounded really strange. I had used a bulb syringe and Sinus Rinse kit to rinse my sinuses (my doctor had recommended I do this because I have allergies throughout the year and take medicine for this every day and still suffered form frequent sinus infections). I tried another ceramic Neti Pot but it seemed to waste as much water as much as went in my nose. YouTube had some videos of people using this (produced by the Himalayan Institute) and it certainly did not look like how it the other Neti pot worked for me. So I ordered this on Amazon and wow, it works just like the videos showed with almost no extra leakage and it was more comfortable and the water flow was nice and even unlike the other ceramic Neti Pot. Sinus rinsing has made a huge difference for me this year so much so that while others suffer a great deal around me I have been able to breathe easier and feel much better. I have recommended this to all of my friends and other allergy sufferers. For safety sake however use distilled or boiled water. Tap water may not be free of microscopic organisms that are destroyed in the boiling process. I now use this every day and think of it the same as brushing my teeth. It is a natural help especially with all of the pollen in the air this spring. I recommend the Himalayan Neti Pot if you looking for one to try out for the first time or if you have used other types (plastic, bottles with pumps, syringes, etc.). It is much better than anything else I have used and there are no extra parts to clean or keep up with. Great little product.

Not my favorite, but ok
I bought this so I would have an extra when the one I already had, a model similar to the baraka, is in the dishwasher. I like that this is ceramic and has a handle. It is a little harder to see how full it is because of the small opening in the top, so it is easier to overfill, though, and the handle is rather small even for my little hands. The spout hole is an ok size, but the spout itself feels awkwardly large, and can be hard to position on my small nostrils. If your nose is bigger than mine it might not be an issue for you, but I find that water tends to gush out of this pot faster than my other one and ends up dribbling all over my chin because the spout hole is also bigger and the unwieldy spout is more tricky to position correctly. The pot itself also seems to hold a little less water, so it ends up being a much shorter rinse. It is nice to have a handle when getting the pot out of the microwave, but I have found that it is less helpful when trying to position on my nose. If your pot is so hot that you cannot grasp it on the body it is too hot to use anyway. This pot does fine in the dishwasher. Using a Neti every night does help my sinuses immensely, as I am prone to allergies and sinusitis, but I wish I had paid more and gotten a second pot more like the one I already had. Remember to use distilled water or water that has been sufficiently boiled, everyone. Your sinuses are right next to your brain.

Bien hecha
Lo compré porque la que tenía, con la cual ya llevaba muchos años, me la rompieron.Esta es un poco más grande pero el tamaño de la salida que va hacia la nariz es perfecto. No se sale el agua. Es de buen material y funciona perfectamente.

I couldn’t live without it! 4 years strong!
Omg I love this! I’ve had it for 4 years now and I could not live without it. Whenever I get a cold I do 15m of steam breathing with lavender essential oil and then do the Neti pot. It works immediately and I can finally breathe. After 3 days of those 2 steps... I’m always cured. Even my boyfriend asks for the Neti pot when he gets sick. It’s miraculous. It works so well that I only need to use it once a year.

Ceramic Neti Pot

Me gusta.
