Buying this to find out more about Elgarthis book shows he was an egoist who ignored English music and his familyto become a rich (by marriage) emulator of Wagner (to curry royal patronage)I particularly was amazed how he deserted his family business and ill treated poor music studentsbefore his 'lucrative ' marriage
