Spectrum (Victoria and Albert Museum): Heritage Patterns and Colours (V&a Museum)

This book is really helpful in sorting colours together and getting ideas for colour coordination.

I love the way they have given a colour breakdown of all colours used in the patterns and the dates these patterns were used/created. I think this book is fabulous. I am very happy with it and could spend hours looking at it. If you’re interested in patterns, colours and historical decoration I think this book would be very useful.

This book is lovely for any artist

A wonderful book although I think I had been given an odd copy with duplicate pages midway through (1500’s repeats itself in middle of the book, with page numbers in 20s again rather than 50s!), and then 1700 has just one page. Anyone else had this?

Combinación de colores al vestir

I bought this as a gift for my sister, who’s currently renovating her 200 year old house. I’m sure the beautiful patterns and colour combinations will give her plenty of inspiration. Now I’m waiting for it to come back into stock, so I’ll have a copy of my own!!

One of the nice features of this book is the key to the V&A website where all the selected patterns are displayed in full run. The color palette notations are quite inspiring as well.

Una ricca fonte di ispirazione per creativi e designer o semplicemente una perla rara da esporre con vanto in libreria.🌼 Tratta e analizza le carte da parati e i tessuti d'arredo dal XV sec. ad oggi. Con focus particolare e relativa analisi sui rapporti cromatici di ognuna.Prende in esame la palette colore di ogni grafica, ne analizza i colori e le loro rispettive quantità in questo modo ci mostra chiaramente gli equilibri che si instaurano tra i vari toni e quindi perché la palette presa in esame funziona.Sfogliandolo si ha una chiara visione di come carta da parati e tessuti d'arredo sono cambiati negli anni, è immediata la percezione di come si sono susseguiti gusti estetici, tecniche artistiche e scelte cromatiche.🌼 Consigliato per Textile Designer, Architetti, Illustratori, Designer nel senso più variegato del termine o semplici cultori di bellezza in una libreria fa la sua ottima figura.🌼 Ottima fattura. La copertina è rigida e leggermente porosa con una trama telata davvero piacevole al tatto, le pagine interne sono luminose leggermente patinate per conferire la giusta brillantezza ai colori. Mi è piaciuta molto anche la scelta di una carta verdina simil reciclata per le risguardie.🌼 Una qualità tutta Thames & Hudson insomma, rinomato brand di libri e manuali d'autore illustrati.🌼 Lo ricomprerei subito, io faccio la Textile Designer di professione. Oltre a dare contributo al mio lavoro è un vero e proprio oggetto d'arte che sa incantare clienti e amici. Lo custodisco con molta gelosia.
