Sashco13010 2 Pack 10.5 oz. Lexel Adhesive Caulk, Clear

I am giving this 4 stars until some more time has passed but so far this has been a 5 star product. I used it to calk a fiberglass bathtub onto the tiles in our bathroom. I already tried using the other brands like Lanco and found that they dried up and turn yellow and then shrink and shrink until they start to lift or develop cracks. The Sashco is different, it seems to be an oil based calk that sticks very well and is bright white and when cured there is no shrinking, so far (2 weeks). I also like that it creates a very smooth surface when put on, a kind of glass like surface unlike the Lanco or 3M stuff that got very uneven and rough.Drying time to first shower usage is about 24 hours and after 72 hours it is pretty solid. The packaging says 30 days to full curing time which is pretty normal with most caulk.One word of advice, when spreading this on do it in one pass and DO NOT make a second pass over the caulk. It develops a glass like skin almost instantly and a second pass ruins that as the surface layer dries within seconds.(Note See update #2 below)Update: Over 6 months and only a small amount of shrinkage. It still has that slight elastic feel and is still shiny and new looking. By far this is the best Caulk I have ever purchased. I have now given it 5 stars.Update: Aug 2019I am now at the 13 Month point and I have purchased two more tubes to redo everything in the house with this Caulk! The original job is still looking great, it did develop some mildew at the 8 month mark but I was able to clean it off easily. I noticed on the fine print that it says the caulk can be smoothed with your finger wetted in MINERAL OIL. Also they say it can make the bead look more even as you can work with it longer. Also Mineral oil is what they recommend for cleaning up any messes. This brand is now the only one I will use going forward as it does not shrink very much, does not get dirty or mildewed very easily and it has a really nice sheen that has so far kept a fare bit of an elastic feel to it.Update Aug 2021I have now used this on just about everything in my house that needed Caulk.My first bath tub application is just about four years ago and the caulk is still in perfect condition and is still pliable when I press my finger nail into it. This thing is amazing, it does not harden up with age and crack like every other brand I have tried before.I used the Lexel to seal an outdoor vent fan on the side of a concrete building. After 24 hours we realized that the 12" fan could not work in that location and it would have to be removed and the hole filled back in with cement. As we pulled the four concrete screws and tried to remove the Fan it would not budge. We ended up spending 30 minutes prying it free from the Lexel seal with screwdrivers and razor blades. In the end the concrete surface broke away in 1/4" thick bits that were stuck to the metal on the fans rim.This stuff sticks to metal and concrete just as readily as it does to fiberglass and tile. It is just incredibly strong and durable.

While we haven’t been able to see the long-term usage of this product, the manufacturer has been absolutely amazing. We were shipped one perfectly fine and one majorly cracked/leaking cartridge. One customer service department did absolutely nothing and one immediately handled the issue and got another sent out. I will always support a great product, especially when it’s from a company with top-tier customer service!

Works great, even on damp concrete. Dries crystal clear. Short time to work with it as it dries pretty quick. Cure time is long but it's adhesive properties are really good.

The tube itself is good quality and I like the screw-off tip. The caulk is pretty clear to begin with and seems to get even clearer after it cures! Sticks VERY well (I used rubber gloves) and keeps water out very well. Best I've used and I've tried a lot over the years to seal cracks around our cement steps.

Much hard to work with than anticipated. This stuff does seal really well but it is messy. Not as easy as silicone based sealants.

I used it to recall the seams on our RV. It doesn't shrink and holds up well in weather and hot southern sunshine.

I have used Lexel for many projects around the house where an all around sealant will do the job. I have used it to fix a gap in the trim work on my garage door. I resealed a bathroom vent boot as well. I also used it in a roof reflashing project for my chimney.I'm currently building a list for the things that I can use it for and will likely try to keep a tube around just in case a need arises. Its quality performance makes it worth a couple extra bucks, in my opinion.It dries clear as long as you don't get it dirty when forming it if that is a necessary step. I have found that it dries well even in the colder range of the recommended temperature. Cleaning up with mineral spirits is easy enough too.

This product is amazing! I’ve used it for patching small roof leaks in my barn, sealed the shower tiles without grout and fix the crack in my horse tank!
