A must buy & great eye opener to figure what it takes to reach the top. (if you even want to!)
An INCREDIBLE book that you must buy.An astonishing story of absolute grit, perseverance and bone-chilling sacrifice. Books like these establish the fact that leaders are made, not born.Highlights and Quotes:- "We are investing in your education to help you stand on your own two feet," he said. "The rest is up to you. Be your own person." (Alok: JUST the advice we've given to our daughters :)"Satan has work for idle hands." That never left me. Still, today I struggle not to be doing something useful all the time.- I had landed in the US with $500. I was at Yale. I searched high and low in that Wawa for curds, but I couldn't find them. I didn't know that curds in India are called yogurt in the US.- I developed my own research routines. For a company that made citrus processing machines, I crawled through juice plants in Brazil and Florida and learned the intricacies of squeezing oranges with different commercial machines. I hung out in a bar in Green Bay, Wisconsin, nursing a lemonade, to listen to competitors' factory workers talk about their troubles on their tissue lines, and then drew lessons for my clients. (Alok - Meaningful insights take tons of hard work to gather!)- In the single most valuable corporate benefit I received in my early career, the head of BCG's Chicago office, Carl Stern, called to tell me to take up to six months off—with pay—to help care for my father. (Alok - Amazing examples of EMPATHY from employers)-Nooyi is a small village near Mangalore, and my in-laws loved that I carried the name in my pursuits in the US and put their tiny town on the map.- I would sit up reading mail and reviewing documents until 1 or 2 a.m. I was almost never around for dinner. I didn't exercise. I barely slept. I left home for the airport at 4:30 a.m. on Mondays and lived in a Marriott hotel room until Thursday night. (Alok - lots of examples of EXTREME sacrifices :)- "Listen to me," my mother replied. "You may be the president or whatever of PepsiCo, but when you come home, you are a wife and a mother and a daughter. Nobody can take your place. "So you leave that crown in the garage."- Getting into the nitty-gritty of EVERYTHING - the fantastic story of the 1.5 Billion IT project she took apart herself.- When I was a little girl, my mother asked me to make speeches pretending I was India's prime minister. She also worried about finding me a husband- The most memorable comment came from a portfolio manager in Boston. "Who do you think you are?" he asked me. "Mother Teresa?" (when Indra presented the strategy of Pepsi to shift the plan to healthier foods that may have sacrificed earnings)

Honesty with grit and grind
Plain and simple account of an incredible journey of a colored female immigrant to reach the top of a world largest corporate and turn it around for the world's good and company's good. Win win win mantra all through without any artificial roller coaster.Great insight in to the challenges from inside and resistance for the outside family for a woman of color. No wonder they depicted Hindu goddesses with several hands adorned with different instruments, tools and weapons.Thank you, Mrs. Indra Nooyi.

Must read autobiography
It is a must read autobiography and the most relevant in the current times for every Indian girl. Because you can easily relate to most of the aspects in the book. The environment, context and the ambitions of a growing up girl who is now the role model for many. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the whole narrative and had many wow moments where Indra described the “Performance with Purpose”, the opening note between the two PM’s where each described her to be one of them and the aspect of humility & due diligence leaves you a long lasting impression. One of the most authentic book in the recent times. Thanks a lot Indra for sharing your story with us:)

Inspirational and thought-provoking!
There is only one way to describe Indra Nooyi's autobiography: phenomenal! She talks about success and goal-setting from a point of view that's not item taken very seriously: the woman and the outsider. She speaks of success without arrogance, but with a sweet and charming modesty, and with surprise at how lucky her circumstance was that she could use all of her skill to it's maximum potential

A must read for every aspiring working woman
I was always in awe with that smile that's coordinated with the strings of pearls around her neck...she was an inspiration to many and for girls in India, she is an epitome of what they can achieve ❤️#indranooyi and her book #mylifeinfull are stories of inspiration, struggle, a constant run to balance, passion, how a family's support can help and many more..!!A couple of things I learnt readig this one and are going to remain with me for long- Having a boss who pushes you to the extremes is a mark of a progressive career. Getting your boss right is the most luckiest thing that can happen to you.- Progress for women can come with guilt but it's your passion that drives you out and makes a proud journey. When your family supports you well but when you are not there for them, they understand but your guilt doesn't.- Nothing is easy for women in the corporate. Doesn't matter if you are a fresh recruit or the CEO of a Conglomerate. It takes a lot of competence and strength to make them forget your gender and skin color.- When you lead, it's your smile that everyone looks forward to. Complaining only complicates and if you are woman, the complication can multiply@indranooyi ma'am you were, are and forever will be an inspiration ❤️ can't tell you how much I spoke about you to everyone around me while I was reading your book. My full.respects to your strength, courage and drive. And heartful thanks to.your family because of whom we all got to be inspired ❤️

A fantastic book and an inspiring personal and professional story!
I had the fortune of knowing Indra Nooyi on her first visit to ABB Brazil. At that time she was the Senior VP of Strategy for the Industry Segment reporting to Gerhard Shulmeyer. Her positive energy and professionalism during the meetings she led was impressive. When I heard about the release of this book, I immediately bought a copy for my daughter.
