simple, lightweight, convenient, stays cool
I got a couple of these to test in my poorly-designed rental that does not have any overhead light fixtures, resulting in large dark areas all over the house. I'm delighted with the results of my test so I'm going to order a few more. WINTER IS COMING--which means it's gonna look like Winterfell Castle in here soon.These lamps are so great. They are lightweight and small so you can attach them to almost anything without fear that they will fall or pull over a shelf, and they are easy to quickly move around. They swivel on their clamps into an almost-infinite number of positions. The dome simply does not get hot even with a 75 watt incandescent bulb. The shape and glossy finish put out a lot of light yet still (mostly) shields eyes from direct glare. The polished aluminum is attractive. They lend an industrial-chic look to any room. They are inexpensive.The only thing that I don't like about them is that the vent holes around the base of the dome allow sharp beams of light to pierce the eye. I am not completely certain that the holes are necessary, given that the aluminum does not heat up. I am going to remedy this problem by adding a flat disc of aluminum at the base, which will still allow heat dispersion through the holes if it's really necessary, but will prevent the escape of the annoying beams. This would be a great feature to add to the lamp and would make it pretty much perfect.

Have light where you need it. It doesn't look pretty but it does the job.
Just as advertised. Very stiff clamp but that is a good thing. Bought these to go with Black Light Bulbs for a Halloween party and have used them several times with normal bulbs for working on my car, home repairs, etc. Didn't realize how useful it would be until I had it.

Good for growing, good for art too!
Works for my seeds for my spices, and when I am done there it will work great for my drawing table for painting, may even buy another one for perfect indoor light!

As described
Exactly what I was looking for to use as a grow lamp for seedlings. Only negative is the metal dome of all of mine came with some sort of damage. Two just had a small dent each and I could kind of smooth them out (metal is aluminum so it bends easily). The damage on the the third was a bit more severe and required being "bent" back into shape before I could use it. But it looks fine now and works.. For the price and what I am using them for, this didn't bother me.

Versatile, great value
Update: I received a customer question in an email that I was not able to reply. The question was whether the lamp could be pisitiofrom something or didn’t need to be clamped it does not need to be clamped the clip itself forms a kind of loop or handle. It can be hung by the loop and the lamp swivels around for convenience. However it cannot be used as a standup table lamp.Very bright light, lightweight, easy to move around. It does get a little warm for living in a small space but that’s what fans are for. I like the no-nonsense workplace look of it. I’ll probably buy a second one. Great value.The lamp can be hung on a hook or clamped to something but can’t be set up like a table lamp

Cheap and functional
It’s a clamp on lamp. It clamps on...that’s what it’s supposed to do. The clamp is firm. There’s a wingnut/ball pivot to deflect and adjust; but as this is pretty much typical of made in China cheap stuff, you can expect the wing nut thread to strip if tightened too much. Position it once or twice and you may be ok, but if you repeatedly adjust, the lamp will “flop down”. But at this price, you get a pedestrian product and get what you pay for.

The dome/shield is thin, would change shape if handled too hard. Perfect product otherwise.
Nice and simple. I used it (along with a led bulb with motion & light sensor) to add an automatic in the garage. My garage door opener has a light but this add on gives more coverage. I would only use it in a garage or workshop. It is a very simple design where 'looks' is not the first priority. It is not ugly, it matches well in a workshop. The dome-shield is very thin, you can leave an imprint with your thumb without a lot of force. However, once you mount it up at where you want, it is not a problem anymore.

which was a large size so it's surface was almost even with the outer edge and the bulb socket was really not quite sturdy enough to hold the weight of the LED bulb ...
Does the trick but limited as to what they can clamp on with. I ordered this for a grow light, which was a large size so it's surface was almost even with the outer edge and the bulb socket was really not quite sturdy enough to hold the weight of the LED bulb tight in the center of the fixture. I'm sure it would work with a lighter weight florescent bulb.
