Desktop Titanic: For When You Have that Sinking Feeling! (Miniature Editions) Paperback – April 22, 2008

Just be clear that this is half of a ship. Basically what the Titanic looked like after it broke in 2 and the rear portion started to sink. My 4 year old for whom it was bought keeps asking me to buy him the rest of the ship. He has played with it quite a bit though and does understand that the ship is sinking. It's an ok toy but very small so I would not purchase for a younger child especially with the teeny lifeboats and propellers that are detachable.

Funny gag gift for adults, or to top a cake. Must understand it is Exactly as pictured, nothing more - half ship Only - and Tiny - can hold entire set in your palm. Blink and you'll lose lifeboat. Younger kids (7yr) will want the ship to have a front half, and for you to read the book to them. Mini book is very clever for adults; parent will have to creatively ad-lib to child. Cartoony pictures help. Strongly glue lifeboats to water if you don't want to lose them. Son and I really like set despite its "shortcomings."

I bought this to put onto my sons birthday cake. He is a fanatic about Titanic and he just loved (he was not impressed with my handwriting, but then, neither was I. Lol). He has fun in his room with this now and I love the phrase "for when you have that sinking feeling". Cracks me up every time.

This is the perfect gift for a Titanic fan! Complete with iceberg, lifeboat and half a ship. Your Titanic fan will be able to express when they are suffering from that "sinking feeling" in the best way possible: by sinking the Titanic itself.

Bought this for my kid as a little novelty toy (he is obsessed with the Titanic history) not for the 'message' it would convey as a 'gag gift'.It is so small but great as a novelty not an impressive gag gift.

My son is obsessed with the Titanic. He wanted this for his desk. It is tiny, tiny but he loves the sinking ship and little life boats. We glued the pieces on one platform so he doesn't lose them.

This is quite cute and helped with a little humor.

Worked great for depicting an event for my son's 1910's school project.I guess this would make a nice discussion piece for someones cubicle.

This product is a lot of fun, for a low price. The humour in a half-sunk ship, an iceberg and two little lifeboats may be black, but the attention to detail, the thoughtful provision of a sea-coloured cardboard base - you can't help but smile :) I've only given it four stars because the little book of careers advice included in the box is very slight. (Basically it's not worth the paper it's printed on, but you don't buy this item for the book.) Congratulations to whoever dreamed this up!

Arrived fairly rapidly. First time, the mini figurines were missing but very impressed by the rapid customer service response from Amazon, who quickly dispatched a fully intact mini Titantic set - this time with the little mini figurines included - which was primarily why we ordered it. Perfect little cake decoration for a Titanic themed cake / party, and the little desktop book is not bad either - but more for an adult. Please note: this is tiny. That little Titanic box fits the tiny book, and figurines and the little box fits in the palm of a medium sized lady's hand.

The plastic was very loose so extremely fragile so had to glue it to make it stable for atleast a minute and the puzzle water isn't stable either but for show it's lovely. So with some glue or sticky stuff people would like it.

I bought this item for my daughter, it is much smaller than I thought it would be, however she was very pleased with it. She has been using it since she got it and having fun with it.
