Trash can rubber bands: Big Blue Band 17" fits up to 56 gallon trash can 10 count

Great bands for our four large cat boxes. Wide, thick and WHAT AN ATTRACTIVE BLUE! These seem to be a much better choice for large cat boxes than the 10" rubber bands we had been using. Our boxes are about the size of a full-sized metal or plastic trash can, and they get used until the rubber rots and breaks. These are much thicker, wider and LONGER than those old bands. We had to stretch them pretty tightly, which allowed the rubber to stretch out and age far too quickly. These hold the pan liners securely but are NOT stretched to their maximum, so the issue with them rotting and stretching out until they are either uselessly loose or they break. This box of ten will probably last us for at least two years. Ours came in a cardboard box and not in a ziplock baggie as in the photos. The box will not work for us, storage-wise, so we will use a ziplock lunch baggie. Also, these STINK like cat pee, like they were used. This was not the case at all - they are new rubber for sure. However, some chemical in the manufacturing process smells nasty. It sort of goes away after a few days. My wife did not even remember the nasty smell when she finally used three of them tonight. (We have had them for about a week now.) I asked her if they still stank. She look mystified and said they had no real smell at all. Then she remembered the original smell. (It was bad. But it is gone, now. No big deal. Just weird.) If you need strong, pliable and LARGE rubber bands, these are the best ones I have yet come across. Five stars except for funkiness upon opening the package, and for not being packed in a resealable bag rather than just crammed into a toothpaste tube-type of box. Recommended.

They work well but nothing to write home to mother about. After purchasing, which usually happens with me, I get a better idea. I purchased a few bungee cords the ones that are belt shaped. These will last for ever and are much easier to use. Just put the bag in, wrap the bungee around and hook. No to find something to do with the left over extremely large rubber bands.

Love these! They are really heavy-duty and stretch well around my large trash containers to keep the bags from falling in. Highly recommend!

Where have these been all my life? I didn't know about these until recently and boy do they help keep the bag from disappearing down under the trash in the can. I use them on every trash can from the small waste basket in the bathroom to the giant rolling can that goes to the curb. I highly recommend them.

I have already found several uses. To keep a box lid closed. To keep a case with a broken latch closed. Replacing the straps on my sleeping bag and sleep pad. Great for trash can liners. They are very tough and durable. Easy to double for smaller applications. The reason for four stars is they are a bit thin. I would have preferred half the quantity twice as wide.

Exactly as advertised. These fit my garbage cans perfectly. It is not a problem with the bands, but heat kills the bands and I'm sure I'll have to replace them when I run out. If you kept the cans in an air conditioned garage or something, they'd last a lot longer. Finally, you cannot purchase these size bands locally.

Nice thick bands, I use them in trash cans to be sure the bag stays up. I've been using same one for a month, no sign of fraying or weakening, so I'm giving a few away to friends and family as they seem like they are going to last and last. Band is about 17" Un Stretched as stated, 45" fully stretched. Mine came in a box not a bag.

These worked well for holding liners in place on the interior container for outside barrels. They are removed every day. The bands hold up well for about 2 months. Then I tie a knot in the band and they're good for another 2 months. Then it's time for new bands. The price is quite reasonable.
