Way better than other brands like Resolve or Bissell which never removed a single stain. But nowadays this will probably take you two tries on a stubborn stain where it used to be one on the 30 year old supply this is replacing. My cat typically brings up kibble with it's hairballs and the red and orange dies the cat food company uses used to come out with Nylac like it used to be but something must have changed with the formula because now it takes a couple of cleaning. At least it will get the stains out and light stains come out easy. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. With enough elbow grease this will work on any stain I have found and I have not found that it damages my carpet in any way, but no idea on any other fabrics.

I have light grey carpet. Orange juice had gotten spilled on it 10 years ago and I hadn't been able to get the large stain out of it with anything that I tried, Nylac worked just with the first application. I had sharpened a lipstick pencil then realized I had stepped on it, Nylac took that out. Stains that looked like tomato juice and several others that I have no idea what they were, that I'd also tried other cleaners on with no success. This stuff is fantastic. I also sprayed it on white lace curtains in the kitchen that had been stained by a deep fryer. I sprayed it on the curtains while still hanging and the grease stains literally just disappeared. I highly recommend this cleaner to everyone who has any kind of stains at all in their carpet. I'm going to start using it in my laundry room on clothes for stains instead of Spray and Wash also. Great great great product.

Great carpet cleaner - ordered more for when I run out!

I haven't used it yet but... While on vacation, my niece used this product to clean a lot ink off her sofa. One or more of her little ones had done quite a job on it! It did a great job and there was no odor! That sold me on getting some for my own home. I am very sensitive to scents (makes my lungs hurt) and am always looking for products that do the job well without causing me pain. Fragrance is the new "second-hand smoke". Amazing how many chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis.

My mother (Mrs. Clean) swore by Nylac. I've used it for years to take spots out of carpets -- and it does, for nearly all small stains. Red wine, of course, requires its own special treatment, but Nylac can clear up the shadows after the salt/seltzer has done its job. No odor, and there are no carpet fibers on the sponge when you're done. Nylac has been increasingly hard to find, so I was happy to find it on Amazon.

We’ve had light carpets for years. No one can believe we have no spots. Nylac works on every spot!!! Even wine!!!! Love this product.
