Skunk-Off Shampoo Spray, 32oz

Our German Shepherd developed a swampy odor after swimming in a river when we went camping. We were stymied because we did a thorough double-shampoo and conditioner with blow dry plus baking soda when we got home from our trip. She still smelled! My veterinarian recommended Skunk-Off to deodorize her undercoat. I also called the manufacturer, Thornell, to confirm that it is an appropriate product for non-skunk odors. They confirmed that people use it for all kinds of odious things like decaying animal smear, etc.I had my concerns about applying the product to dry fur. I was worried it wouldn’t lather or saturate the undercoat. I did specifically buy the larger size in the squirt bottle.My concerns were unfounded. I was impressed. I didn’t need as much of the bottle as I thought I would. I sprayed it very close to her coat sometimes lifting the fur. It lathered very easily. It rinsed very easily too.She is fully dry now and I no longer smell the musty, swampy odor. I don’t detect it under the product either. The product definitely has its own scent. I don’t find it unpleasant as some reviewers.

German Shepard found out a skunk will only run so far. Took a week to get the Skunk off shampoo because we are rural so no Saturday delivery. Same day it arrived we soaked him down with it rubbed it in & hosed him off. Still a faint whiff, I think another application would take care of that. But he was so happy to be allowed back in the house. I would buy it again.

I ordered this product in an attempt to remove residual skunk smell after my poor pooch was sprayed. The night that it happened, we did the usual recommended bath of baking soda with dish soap, etc., that we found on Google and this actually removed a great deal of the initials stink.I got this product because I could still smell skunk when the doggo was very close to me. His whole face area was saturated and rubbed in all as per the instructions. There did seem to be some release of skunk odor that I could immediately pick up while rubbing this in. Once it was washed off, I was hopeful the smell would be gone however it is still present and perhaps will require multiple repeated applications. Really not that impressive since most of the smell was gone already.

This product got rid of the skunk smell, but it smells WORSE than the skunk. Had to bathe my dog three times more to get the product aroma out, and had to scrub my hands 4 times.

My headline pretty much says it all. After the dog got skunked again, I thought the bigger bottle with the spray nozzle sounded like a good idea. I was especially looking forward to spraying it on if she gets skunked again, but no nozzle was included.

My dog met a friendly skunk at 5:00am in the backyard. The little skunk wanted to play until my dog started to bark on a half down play position. She then received the skunk spray on her side. And the little skunk said goodbye and walked slowly on the neighbours backyard.The smell was horrific, between burned tire and gas leak. My husband let the dogs enter the house (bad bad idea…) instead of having the dog directly in the garage dog bath station or outside to the hose. And he walked on the mud room with his shoes that had the smell also!!!For the dog : I had a small bottle (296ml) of the shampoo that I never used before. To get rid of the smell, I needed all the bottle less as little bit in the bottom (2 shampoos) and I used her regular shampoo and conditioner on top of that both times.Now I ordered the big bottle just in case. I have 2 dogs (Portuguese Water dogs) of 40 pounds and if it happens again to one or the two, the 296ml won’t be enough.I also ordered the spray to get rid of the odor inside, on our shoes and outside on furniture if needed.We are prepare for a next time that will certainly happens again. My younger dog is friend with everybody and all the living creatures outside. LOL

It works fabulous on getting rid of skunk orders on your pets !, Good to have on hand. You never know when it could happen to you!!!!

Took most of the bad smell from my dog. It's not 100% efficient but much better than nothing.

Used this on my pet. They had lingering smell a few days after a peroxide/dish soap wash. I used alot of this, exactly as instructed, scrubbed it in well. Didn't remove any lingering smell at all, have better luck with using a wet wipe daily to slowly remove the smell (it's been a week and a half since) from their face. Also the peroxide/baking soda/dish soap remedy worked best for anyone whose pet has been sprayed- just hesitant to use this on their face/eyes
