Good, Versatile
I like these for hanging sandbags from tripods/light stands or hanging backpacks in my closet.

Only good for hanging a bag/There's no security for holding your purse to a chair or something
I was hoping to lock my bag with that loop but I bought the wrong item. They need to make it so your stuff isn't just a quick grab to steal a back pack or bag.

Handy
A simple use, and holds a chunk of weight easily. Neat alternative to Heroclips

Good quality, versatile hanger for (non-clothing) items in your closet.
The 8Timber Gear Hooks are sturdily made, and have uses beyond your closet. The strap engages securely into the teeth on the hook. The hook hangs on round dowels found in most closets, and works fine on my thin metal closet bar as well. If you leave the hook on your bag, you can easily hang it up at your destination in a closet or back of a chair, rather than dumping it on the floor, or having the bag taking up a chair or desk space. If you don't want the Gear Hook hanging on your bag as you walk around, twisting the strap out is easier than trying to pull it out of the slot in the plastic hanger. In my photo, you can see a bag hanging on on the plastic hanger, with the elastic looped around the closet pole.I have an "everyday carry" bag that I need to take with me at least once a day, but I didn't want the clip hanging off the bag while I carried it. Getting the strap to release from the hook is certainly doable as I described above, but not something I wanted to deal with each and every time I grabbed my bag. So I "improvised" and reversed the clip, so the little bungie goes around the closet pole and the bag is suspended from the plastic hook. I have had no problem with the bag falling accidentally off in the closet. In fact, I think it is almost as secure as using the hook on the pole as shown in the manufacturer's instructions. However, my technique might be problematic if you have a large diameter pole in your closet. The straps have a little stretch in them, but after wrapping the elastic strap around a 1.25" closet pole, getting it to engage in the hanger might be a struggle.

Pretty handy if you're imaginative about how to use them.
This review is going to be uncharacteristically short. These clips are very handy if you're a bit more imaginative with them.I've generally never felt a need to have to hang my packs underneath the table my packs are made for work and getting kicked around or put on urban or outdoor surfaces is a non-issue for them. They're also wide enough that they can sit up without falling over when placed on the ground. So after about a month to find an excuse to is it that way I gave up it didn't come up enough. But there's plenty of times when you might need a hook and once you expand your thinking beyond the product description these hooks become a lot more handy. I think of them as a ultra compact clothes hanger. It's a great way to hang up garments anywhere in both urban and rural settings. It's also really handy for hanging miscellaneous pieces of equipment up when you need to work on them in the field. In one notable use I used it to hang up a tarp for some wind protection. Now I pack one or two in my work packs since they take up almost no space and never know when you might need to hang up a wet garment or turn a hydration ladder into a impromptu shower ect.

The design of the item is nice, but unfortunately the material is too slippery for tabletop use.

Didn't Know I Needed These
I live in a walkable city neighborhood; I do most of my errands on foot. I'm almost always carrying some kind of rucksack or backpack with a computer, groceries, etc.At home, I'd previously been storing my bags by hanging on plastic clotheshangers, but recently broke one, so thought I'd give these hooks a try. They're quite sturdy, and make my backpack storage look neater.I can see that I'll want to take one of these hooks with me when I'm out and about, too. One issue they'll solve is what to do with my rucksack at outdoor cafes. Normally, I try to hang it by the shoulder straps on the chair back, but that doesn't work with all chairs. And I really don't like the alternative of putting my bag down on the dirty ground. Now I can just hang it on the back of the chair! I'm sure I'll find other uses as time goes on.I highly recommend these if for regular backpack users.
