Works with Phonak hearing aid
The clarity of the sound is excellent and having Phonak hearing aids with Bluetooth it paired up with them instantly. I also managed to hook it up to my very old Siemens-Gigaset cordless phones without any issues and having done so I was able to import all my phone numbers on my old phone system. Love being able to blacklist the spam numbers and it has now cut down these type of calls. The phone has an excellent tone on it as well with large buttons for older persons like me.

Mixed pluses and minus'
Challenging menus that need the manual. Sound quality was good until paired with Bluetooth - weird.

Also works with BT dect cordless phones
Needed to replace an analog BT Lifestyle cordless base that stopped working. This Gigaset has better features such as announcing the number and very clear sound quality. As a bonus I found my BT cordless phones work with this base as they are all based on the DECT standard so I only needed one Gigaset cordless phone with base.

In a drawer now
I bought it with the intention to use the bluetooth ability to use ears buds for phone calls, but straight out of the box I was unimpressed with the absolute downgrade the call minder function gave to what I have been using for 20 years. Just announcing the number that is calling is somewhat useless compared to what I had. So I turned off the answerphone and registered the handset as a 2nd one with my old base.A complete failure. Not only were both handsets ringing but when one was answered there was still ringing in the background on the line, probably all down to me and the huge disappointment I felt at not having my phone tell me who is ringing before I decide whether to answer it or not.I came to the conclusion it wasnt worth the hassle and threw it in a drawer in the junk room where so many, sometimes costly, "good ideas" go to die

Analogue phone, with options
This is an analogue phone and, whilst it has many features that make it a practical choice for older users, it will have a limited lifespan if plans for a move to a digital service come to fruition by 2025, which will make this phone redundant. The handset is a good size and visually easy to use, but it comes with a 96 page manual, so might be daunting to set up. Easier to do as you go along with the phone in front of you and piecemeal. The phone looks smart and the handset is easy to grip with large numbers so dialling isn’t too much of a trial. But bear in mind the aim is for analogue to cease in 2025.
