SAN VITALE Men's Solid Buckle with Automatic Ratchet Leather Belt 35mm Wide 1 3/8"

I'm new to ratchet buckle belts, having only learned about them through the "As seen on T.V" version called Click belt. I almost ordered that one as it has pretty good reviews as far as the belt working as advertised. However, everybody has complained that the Click belt is not real leather, and is kind of plastic looking. This turned me off as I know fake leather belts don't last long and tend to break in less than a year. Then I found these belts made by San Vitale, and they claim to be made out of real cow leather. AND, they are cheaper in price than the Click belt on top of this fact! It sounded too good to be true, but Amazon let's you return clothing for free so I took a chance. Well, I'm here to say that yes, they are quality leather belts. You can smell the leather just opening the box it comes in. The buckle is also high quality polished metal that looks very stylish. Even better, the ratchet system works beautifully and easily. The belt was too long, so I trimmed off about two inches with scissors and re-attached the buckle. Now it's the perfect length with just enough left over length in case I gain a little weight. If you're debating trying a ratchet belt, I suggest you start with these from San Vitale. You'll be glad you did, as I am. High quality, low price.

Nice belt! I like the belt a lot, especially for its stylishness. But I found the latch and lock mechanism to be too troublesome.There are a couple fundamental design flaws with the buckle as it seemed.1. The lock level does a wonderful job biting into the groove. But upon releasing, the back lever--supposed to hold down the belt so that the lock level can be disengaged, does the opposite: forcing the belt to come up with lock lever instead!Thus the release level is impossible.no matter how hard you tried, as the belt groove just comes up with the lock blade at the same time.2. The release lever is a pain in the "xxxx." Making it round is cool, but when the levers ain't working properly, it is useless and nuisance.Under no load/locking pressure, it clicks nicely. Other than that, it is anything but...I want to buy again. But please improve the design a little. Maybe intro a feature close to the lock lever so the belt doesn't come up during released action.More than half of the time, I have to press down on the belt (where the lock lever is) while trying to release the buckle.Or at worst, I have to pry open the clam to get belt and buckle apart.

My son has to wear a nice belt to work but he hates wearing them, so I found this belt that has the ratchet style buckle and he loves it. The adjustment ability is so amazing! The belt and buckle are way nicer than I had expected for the price. The packaging was gorgeous and it came with a nice pair of free socks, also gorgeously packaged. I was very impressed with the quality and I will definitely be buying more belts from this company. If you need a gift for a hard to shop for guy this would be perfect and it is so well packaged you would not have to worry for one second that sight unseen you can be assured that who ever the recipient is they will be impressed with the attention to detail and will feel well taken care of from this company.

I love this belt.I have worn it for a bit over a year and honestly, I don't ever want to go back to a traditional belt.The ratcheting system lets you make small adjustments, letting you have a perfect fit every time. Having to push a lever to release the belt a little getting used to but quickly became second nature.The style is simple and professional.The finish is starting to come off, but after such a long time of kitchen work where it's not exactly treated with care, I'd say this is more than acceptable wear and tear.This really was a great purchase.

The belt is good quality and I like the ratcheting mechanism. However, the belt REEKS of mildew and mold. I've had it out on the counter to air out for a couple of days now and it doesn't seem to be any better. I'll try a leather cleaner on the belt next and see if that helps, but I am disappointed that I got a stinky belt. It was pretty cheap, so I'm not going to mess with returning it. I'll either fix the smell or chuck it.As far as the fit goes, I was a little worried about the size. I'm somewhere in the 36-38 inch range and I decided to go with the larger one. I'm glad I did since you can trim the belt if needed. It's easy to cut some off but more of a pain if you order a belt that's too small.UPDATE: the stink did eventually go away, but the finish is coming off after only a month of daily use.

Probably my favorite belt just because of its latching function. It took me longer than I care to admit to figure out the de-latching function, however in my defense, the lever on the bottom is a bit stiff and takes some finagling to operate. The finish is quite lovely, and not distracting to the eyes. I wore this with waistcoats, and never had that issue with glare forcing people to advert their eyes from blinding reflective lights. Probably an overstatement, but there is nothing worse than having a terribly distracting belt.. Well, maybe having on the wrong color dress shoes.

Great buy. Mine happened to come with free no show socks which was pretty awesome for starters. On top of that the build looks great for these belts (at least the buckle) I run 31/32 waist so these came out of the box a bit big, but I just took out the leather cut it about 3" and the fit was perfect. For the price these look amazingly fancy (something i plan to wear to weddings for sure). Only down side is taking it off is a bit annoying as the release is on the bottom side of the belt which makes it hard to reach.

Very good for church, business or any important meetings or travel, the length is easy to trim by cutting with a decent pair of scissors; little on the heavy side but not uncomfortable & I don't want to mess it up while doing commercial service work. Therefore, I will purchase a more common, lighter, leather belt for work. Nice belt, no serious complaints.

I purchased this belt (two of them in fact, which I am happy with!), however within the last week, one of the belts is not releasing correctly, and in some cases, it does not release at all, until you keep trying and trying and trying to release the belt, and finally it works!The other belt I have, no issues at all, works like a charm!Now, for the other belt, how do I get this returned / replaced? I am thinking about buying several of these, and I have recommended others to buy them, but that was before my issue occurred with the belt.

I've had belts with belt holes and I kept using the same hole on the belt and sooner than later the belt hole would get too big and would pop open all the time. This belt can be adjusted at 1 cm intervals so you can achieve a comfortable setting all the time.

Very nice belt and soft leather also.
