Color selection could have been better. Great working time / open time and good value.
wanted to try Marabu alcohol inks and compare/contrast them with Ranger alcohol inks. I have been pleasantly pleased with the depth of color and workability of the inks and find them to be a great addition to my alcohol ink collection.First, the color range is from a very pale and chalky Pastel Lilac to a deep true Purple and a lovely Aubergine I like the colors except the puzzling Pastel Lilac (chalky mixative requiring shaking like the metallic colors)and the ability to work them with an airbrush and rework them until I’m satisfied with the results (see attached photo). They move well using 91% alcohol found at the drug store and mix well with metallic mixatives like Piñata brass.I find that there is more ‘open’ workable time with the Marabu inks than with Ranger alcohol inks. I also find that there are less variances in color than with Ranger; the pigments are true to color, while Ranger inks have a variance of underlying pigments and tones. I like the Ranger products precisely for this reason, but it’s nice to know that I have a single-note, true color with the Marabu inks.I find that the value for the money is great as well. One note—someone complained about the alcohol inks splashing when they poked a hole in the top. Just unscrew the cap, poke a hole (I used a push pin), and screw the cap back on. No mess, no fuss!I also tried the Aubergine with the Marabu Rainbow additive. The Rainbow additive made it like an interference color with little pebbles of glittery goodness. The gorgeous Aubergine was made more gorgeous with the additive!

Always a good buy!
I’ve used this alcohol ink for years and it never disappoints. The colors are pigmented and whether I’m using them in resin or on Yupo paper they give me a really vivid color. I use them primarily in resin projects so I can’t speak to alcohol ink drawings with any type of authority, however I have used them on Yupo paper in the past with good results. As far as how they react with Resin, I have no complaints. All purple alcohol inks turn pink when it reacts with resin. This isn’t a drawback or complaint it’s just something to be aware of when you’re using alcohol inks in resin. It’s not an issue that’s specific to this line; it has literally happened with every single purple alcohol ink that I have used as a colorant in Resin. I love the variety purples in this pack I’m very satisfied with the inks overall. The only drawback to these is that they have a very strong odor, so if you’re a person that has a sensitive nose these may not be the alcohol inks for you. I highly suggest using them in a well ventilated area and making sure that you have the necessary protective gear otherwise you could end up with a bit of a headache.

Gorgeous beautiful paint
I’m using it for a stained glass window project and I must say it’s the most beautiful glass paint I’ve ever used. Goes on so easily and smooth. When dried you can’t tell it’s not glass. No air bubbles and no cracking lik some of the most expensive brands I’ve used in the past. Very happy with this product and I’ll be a loyal customer for future purchase’sI’ll update my review when the window I’m working on is completed.

Great value, lovely colors
I'm new to alcohol inks and only dabbled with a few of the Tim Holtz alcohol inks until these. I really love that they come in color sets, even though I prefer using several colors together. These are very similar in quality to the ones I've tried before, and they work great for card backgrounds on Yupo paper, which is all I've used them for so far. This color set is one of my favorites and looks great with the teal set!
