User Manual only had cautions and warnings. No instructions! Needed to find instructions on youtube.Battery slowed computer considerably. TechTool Pro battery test results indicated failures in: Temperature:Battery Thermal Diode 0 14.60 ˚C / 58.28 ˚F, — FAILED Cell Imbalance, — Externally Indicated Failure, — FAILED Discharge FET, — and FAILED Safety Over-Voltage. I received the battery and immediately installed it. It was not dropped or damaged by me in any way.My old battery that needed replacement (only problem was frequent charging) was superior in operation than this new battery.I removed the battery to return it, and put back my original old battery that is over 7 years old. TechTool Pro battery test showed the battery is in fair condition because it's old. There were no failures listed in the test.11/20/17 —The company did email me and wanted to send me a replacement. I had already ordered one from another vendor. I do appreciate them contacting me and making the effort to rectify the situation. A+

I wish I could report this battery works well. I've had it about a month. It doesn't hold a charge.Last evening I unplugged my MacBook Pro (2011). The battery was at 99%. I used it last night till the battery was down to 67%, then put the laptop in sleep mode. When I powered up this morning, at first it said 67%. Within 5 minutes it said 6%.I do not recommend this battery.UPDATE: The only thing worse than getting a crappy battery (When I opened my laptop this morning it said 73%, and within five minutes it was at 6%) is not having anyone from the company try to contact me after seeing my review. BEFORE my review I received about 2 or 3 unsolicited emails asking me to say positive things, and even offering to give me a portable charger for my phone. AFTER my review? Crickets.

This item arrives well protected (box was damaged when delivered, however the item was in a good condition).Installing was not hard, took some adjusting, and it fits ok. The battery test by (coconut-Battery) shows instant failure! It lasts for about 2 hours of video streaming through Netflix, and after it says 25% left, then all of a sudden it drops to 7% in less than 3 mins!!This is my 3rd battery I buy from all what Amazon has to offer, and none of them is the real deal!Considering that I switched to the SSD (solid state hard drive) which, supposedly, consumes less energy!I have had it for 2 weeks now, and will give it one more week hoping performance will improve! If not, will return it.I wish apple were still making their battery available!The last move to revive my MacBook Pro is to buy the NewerTech NuPower battery (available through Amazon) since it is the highest priced one ($100) and see how that works!

I really want to review on this product. The battery on my 2012 MBP went bad, it can hold charge for less than 4hrs, while I need to go through a day without the charger. While I need the change, I don't want to invest $200 for a genuine Apple battery as I don't plan to keep the macbook forever. This battery with its price looks like a great bargain, though I was skeptical about its performance. Anyway, instead of buying a spare charger at work (I kept forgetting it all the time), I tried on this one.The replacement was easy and straight-forward. The screw set was more than what we need to do the job. Fit nicely.I tested it for several cycle to make it can last me for the whole work day. To be honest, it's not like the new macbook, which can last for more than 8hrs. This one can last me roughly 7hrs depends on the work. That's enough for me. With the price, no doubt, it's a real bargain.PS: the screenshot shows the use of one cycle during my weekend, on and off use, with reading, surfing, youtube watching, and video editing. It lasted more than 6hrs with 18hrs standby.

I just installed this battery in a mid-2009 Macbook Pro. It replaced a previous battery I'd bought a few years ago from iFixit. The Ankon battery was manufactured only 9 months ago and came with about a 70 percent charge. After fully charging it, it showed only one charge cycle. The manufacturer appears to be the same company as the original battery installed when the machine was new, as well as the iFixit battery. The iFixit battery, however, was sold as new, but was what I'd consider "new old stock" since the iFixit battery was manufactured about two years before it was sold to me. Since a battery will degrade over time even if not used, I wan't happy with the iFixit battery but decided to keep it. The Ankon battery reports a higher capacity than either the OEM battery or the iFixit battery. I'm very pleased with this purchase.It's not at all difficult to replace the battery. I already had the appropriate screwdrivers, but Ankon provides them in the box. The case screws are Phillips head, and the two battery screws are Tri-wing. Take care not to lose the screws since they're very small. Also, be careful not to cross-thread them when you re-install them. iFixit has instructions on its website if you haven't done this before.I was going to recycle my Macbook Pro (it's really just a backup machine), but the Ankon battery has given it some new life.

Arrived in no time. Packed very well and secured. I watched Youtube video weeks before so when I opened the box-I knew exactly what to do. I did not use the tools it came with. No real reason other than already having my own tools. My only regret to doing the job right would be to order a new set of screws, too. The battery was charged 74%, out of box, that was great as I powered it on and all the annoying rhings I had gotten used to- now gone. Clean the fan while changing the battery and blow out any debris carefully. Oh, and order a new set of screws for the case when you change the battery, i am very pleased,A few days later, even, I received confirmation from the vendor, Ankon, confirming the battery's warranty and if there are any problems to contact them and they, "will make it right." I have every confidence they would so the service was very helpful.
