Way overpriced for an needless "event"
As ridiculous as it was, I enjoyed the Avengers vs X-Men "event." It had a lot of fun match-ups, and with both sides fighting over a MacGuffin, there was at least a bare bones plot. Also, it had a LOT of material, with many side stories - so much that it covered two omnibus editions ( Avengers vs. X-Men and Avengers vs. X-Men Companion ). Inhumans vs X-Men has no reason to exist, except perhaps to help promote the upcoming tv show.Black Bolt released a Terrigen cloud across the world during the Infinity event, in order to protect his son (who had not yet undergone Terrigenesis) from Thanos. Unfortunately, the cloud is deadly to Mutants and Cyclops died. Emma Frost wanted revenge and influenced the X-Men into a war. Revenge is a decent go-to motive, but it rarely supports a plot. This story was not only predictable, but worse still - boring. I read the entire thing in an hour. I would have given this more stars simply for the art, and seeing so many diverse characters interact (Moon Girl!!), but this collection is priced at $50. And it is NOT worth it; not even at the Amazon discounted price ($30 as of this writing). This book is a cash grab and not much more.I've been reading Marvel for years, but the quality is seriously diminishing. Not only are there too many events, but they frequently ruin solo series in the process. Skip this, or borrow it from a library.

Mutant Inhuman Madness!
This oversized hardcover collects issues 0-6 of the Inhumans Vs. X-Men event. The Inhumans have released a terregin mist over the world (read Jonathan Hickman's Infinity event to see how). It transforms any human that has a Inhuman gene in them into their true form. As the mist engulfs the world it becomes clear that it is harmful to mutants even leading to death. The X-man Beast joined up with the Inhumans to find a way to fight the effects of the mists on mutants. Cyclops and his group of X-men took a more hostile approach and attacked the Inhumans and the clouds. Cyclops ends up being killed by Queen Medusa ordering King Black Bolt to vaporize him with his voice. Or so Emma Frost using her telepathic powers wants the world to believe. Cyclops actually died earlier due to a virus from the mists. This lead to a truce between the two subspecies. And this where the event picks up.The event itself is very good. Action packed with good little character moments. Charles Soule and Jeff Lemire wrap up their Inhuman and X-men runs respectively in epic fashion. I will say its a shame that both sides didn't just sit down and talk it out. Many lives would have been saved. But this is superhero comic books. The heroes have to fight! Haha. It's cool and very fitting which group have the cooler heads and save the day. I liked it. Just be warned that the 0 issue is just a info dump of what has previously happened. The art is great. Featuring the talents of Kenneth Rocafort, Leinil Francis Yu, and Javier Garron. They all rock.Hopefully the Inhumans and the X-men throwing down don't become a regular thing but the way this conflict came about was pretty well setup. All in all a good story.

Disappointing
I am going to echo a whole of prior complaints of when Marvel looked to be trying to replace the X-men with the Inhumans. The Inhumans are fun in limited runs, but they have tons of problems: They're a very hierarchical monarchy which also had slave/serf society. This book does attempt to address it, but not where near as interestingly or deftly as the late 90s short-run. Furthermore the attempt to wipe out mutants seems to be moved into an attempt to re-set the status quo albeit without Cyclops. Villains can go back to being villains, the morally gray universe created many writers in the Aughts (Whedon, Morrison, Lemire) back to something like the early 90s X-universe. Soule can be a good writer, but he just rushes through too much characterization to the get to the end point here. Terrigen mist from killing all mutants is maintained by Medusa for reasons that aren't clear and the ending is ultimately HIGHLY convincing in light of this fact. Fairly disappointing.

Okay
Minor Spoilers* I came into this brand new with no knowledge of what recently happened in X-Men or Inhumans beyond what was written in the book. Because of this, I found that this wasn't entirely confusing. However, I did find the plot to be rather fast and the ending to be a bit lack-luster. I don't like that they set the blame on one character when they all made mistakes. I also feel like the ending could have been more poignant, but for what it is, it's fine.

Meh is an understatement
I bought this book because it was on sale and the price dropped dramatically, and also because i'm a fan of the Old man Logan character. I also was curious after the debacle that was Marvel trying do hard to push the Inhumans as the new "X-men" failed miserably and rightfully so. This book proves why. The Inhumans are just very unintresting characters. They don't have the charisma or iconic status of the X men and when shown nest to each other, it really is apparent. The book has a somewhat interesting premise, A cloud is coming to wipe out all mutant kind, but the cloud also is the bread and butter of the Inhumans race, hence which fuels the VS of this book. Truth be told it's not an awful book, theirs some decent art, and cool fights, but overall i was bored with this read. Pick it up if your'e one of the dozen Inhuman fans left in the world, otherwise avoid it like the Inhumans tv series.

nice book
Don't know much about this book. Know the X-MEN and INHUANS are. Guess they went to war. Know they become friends for a while. Fan's of both well like this book. Fan's of MARVEL comics well like this book. They should get it.

Decisions
Excellent book, in it are the seeds of a number of events happening today. Medusa makes a big sacrifice for Earth's mutants.

Both sides have a point
I loved the graphics, with that being said I have no idea of the preface of what happened before. It was interesting and I enjoyed the story.

Absolutely loved it
I love the X-men and watching them battle it out with the Inhumans was immense. I couldn't put this book down. You can totally see both sides of the argument as to why they battle and poor Beast is caught in the middle. You won't be disappointed reading this! I highly recommend it!
