November review: Perfect for my small 3.5 gallon tank. I had a heater without an adjustable thermostat but it heated the water to much. I'll order a second one for my other tank. Nice quality, fast shipping.December review: Revised from 5 Star down to 1 Star. Bought two of them, the 2nd one lasted about the same length as the first one, THREE WEEKS. Will not buy another one and will not recommend it either.

The heater works pretty well in my 1 gallon tank, i do have problems with fluctuations due to the temperature of my room and the fact it does take a LONG time to actually change the temperature of the water. PLEASE BE WARNED! my betta did get stuck INSIDE the casing of the heater! There is a hole in the bottom of the heater casing that i think he swam up through and was freaking out! He thankfully found his way out eventually but the heater moves inside the casing and has holes big enough for small bettas to fit through! The cord is also super short.

The heater works but the holes in the back are so tiny my full grown female koi Betta swam in there and got stuck I manged to get her out but she can’t swim anymore.... :( she was missing for 2 days and after searching I FINALLY found her in there. But now she’s going to die!

BEWARE- Put this in my tank for a day before adding my fish and got the temp up to around 78. Put my Betta in. the next day the temp was at 70 and the betta was huddled over top of the heater so I adjusted the wattage up 5 watts- the next morning the temp was over 80 degrees and my betta was dead. worst heater ever!

This is a nice heater, Although I noticed that it's very hard to turn the dial to raise or lower the temperature. Every time I used the dial it started to get harder and harder to use, and now I can't even turn it with my bare hands. I must use a wrench in over to turn the dial at all.. It could just be my heater, so take this review with a grain of salt. Thanks

I like this little heater, especially since it is covered in a plastic shell, which makes it a bit tougher to break. However, it's a bit hard to tell if it's on sometimes, as you have to search for the orange light, which can be hidden by the plastic. It's also a bit more difficult to set up in your aquarium, as there aren't temperatures, but numbers from 5-25 to attentuate the temperature by. I was switching out a different thermometer from a betta tank (since I hate glass), and it was reading high. I ended up setting up and identical aquarium right next to the first, and went through each of the settings, and marked where the temperature stabilized at.

Dont really like this item. It has issues heating a 5 gallon bucket. It took all day to get the temp up. Thankfully fow me i just bought it to heat water for water changes and not to maintain temps in a tank. For my needs it does the job, but i wouldnt use it for anything other than that.

Warms up my fish bowl nicely. My betta seems to dig it. However, it's best to set it at 15 degrees. 20 felt too warm.
