Oh, boy! I really like these!...but, gee, a dud
Received the package in a timely way. Heeded other reviewers' cautions about unwrapping them so they wouldn't get snarled/tangled - it helped greatly to drape them out (I used a line of ladderback chairs, so I could hook the horizontal line over the chairs' finials, and drape the vertical stars down behind). I measured my space and installed my hooks (3M command indoor/outdoor hooks), then carefully gathered the lines and climbed on the ladder to loop the wires into the hooks. EASY. I ordered two sets and had no problem connecting them - though there are no instructions to tell users to unscrew the clear plastic fittings at the end of set A, and to disconnect/unscrew the black plastic fittings on set B (removing the wall plug), and connect B into A. It was pretty easy to figure out, though, and they look great. Fiddle a bit with the pattern by pushing the button on the controller (best to avoid the seizure-inducing flashers), and voila! all done.FOLLOW UP: As it turns out, I have a dud in one of the strings. Alas. Contacting seller about remediation.

Did Not Work Right Out of the Box
I had bought similar lights from another vendor, no longer listed on Amazon, so bought 5 more strings to replace originals, which I loved and which lasted for two years. I tested every string. One was not working right from the start. Two were finicky; if you held the little box that manages the flash pattern just the right way, they might work as long as they were held just the right way. I untangled and hung the four "working" strings. One twinkles very dimly, the others are not working. The wires appear very fragile compared to the other sets I bought from a different vendor, and, well, they just aren't working. I love the look so I have reordered from yet another vendor, hoping for a sturdier set. I wish reviewers would be honest about the problems they have. I only figured out how to connect the strings by reading a review by another frustrated reviewer; it was not intuitive but once he described how to do it, it wasn't hard. These lights sold by this vendor just seem to be too fragile for hanging.

star string lights with multiple light settings
My kids really love this; it's one of their favorite Christmas decorations we have. We actually still have them hanging up and it's well passed Christmas, so it's definitely something that can be used year round if you like that kind of thing. I like the different settings you have to choose from. When I read the reviews, I noticed most people complained about how it was packaged and how long it took them to unravel the line of lights. This helped me prepare and make sure I had space to unravel it. My box came in fine and the line of lights were secured with rubber bands. It was a little time consuming in making sure the lines were unraveled, but as long as you only did one set at a time and have floor/table space it was pretty easy. I recommend have floor space to unravel it all. I was able to put up by myself with a step ladder and tacks no problems tangling up. I did notice I have 1 star that isn't as vibrant as the others, but other than that I'm very pleased with this purchase.

They're very pretty, but be prepared to sit with them for the better part of an hour trying to untangle them before you can hang them up and before you can put them away after you take them down. I love that there are 8 different light patterns to choose from including one setting that runs through each one every few seconds.

These were beautiful the first year
These were beautiful the first year- When I went to install them the second year, they became so hopelessly tangled that many of the thin wires snapped. That made it totally useless and the lights ended up in the trashcan. There has to be a better way to ship and store these.

My three year old lights still work great!
Light is very warm—not cool at all. Have had these outside in the cold and rain for three December’s now (bought in 2018) and they still work great. TheStrands that hang down tangle up SUPER easy so I wrap each stand up in its own little plastic bag before storing away. Sounds like a pain, but otherwise it would take all day to untangle the strands

Manufacturing defect
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Looks beautiful and warm BUT it took us three hours to figure out how to space the lights and still as you can see in the video, the second half of the string doesn’t space out well. We believe the pattern is not right and should be a manufacturing defect.
