A worthwhile traumatic bleeding medical kit
This is a kit of medical items for the control of traumatic bleeding. I am not a health care professional. I acquired this kit to have it on hand in case of emergency. It is kept in a readily accessible place at home, and will be taken on long road trips. The actual kit size is somewhat smaller than it appears in the promotional material. The product details show the actual size: “7.5 x 3.5 x 8.5 inches; 1.7 Pounds”. The issue is whether the contents suit the purpose. It seems that is so, based upon the informative review by D.Miller, and my own review of “stop the bleed” advice at various sites on the web. In fact, I have printed out some of that advice and will keep it with the kit.The kit came sealed within a clear plastic wrapper. After removing that wrapper and examining the kit, I used some clear food wrap to re-seal the exterior so as to avoid contamination. In aid of possible future use, I have copied the listing of kit contents, from the promotional material on Amazon, and I have taped it to the exterior of the kit, since the exterior only included a small label with a very abbreviated product description, and that was discarded when I took the clear outer wrapping off. There is no listing of contents within the kit, and there is no first aid brochure or other trauma care advice. One might think the price a bit steep for this handful of single-use consumables; however, if put to effective use, they can save a life or prevent other devesting results. Take note, however, this kit only includes items to address bleeding. Traumatic injuries often result in additional problems, such as respiratory depression or obstruction, wound contamination, etc.Not being a medical professional, if I found it necessary to use this kit, and if the circumstances permitted, I would immediately contact a hospital emergency department and get some telemedical advice to address the emergency, while waiting for medical professionals to arrive.I give this kit four stars, based upon my views as a non-medical professional. If the kit had included a ready listing of its contents and a suitable bit of advice for its use, I would have given it five stars.

An Educated Review
First off....couple bonifides. I've used all the key stuff this kit comes with. I train people on their use and I'm very familiar with this stuff.First....the kit is very good. It's not overkill like many other kits that stuff the pouch with a bunch of junk and fillers you'll never use. This has what you need and keeps it simple. The pouch is not packed so tight it explodes when you open it either. The tourniquet is a legitimate North American Rescue, CAT TQ. This is a big deal bc many janky kits will include an off brand TQ and they're garbage. NAR CATs are the absolute industry standard. The CAT also appears to be the newest generation (which is 7 right now, I believe)....red tip, thicker windless (stick), etc. This is a big positive. The QuikClot is good quality and brand name. It's vacuum sealed well. (this is for junctional bleeds that can't be stopped with a TQ).Chest Seals aren't a brand I've used, I prefer the HyfinVent brand....but no reason they shouldn't work the same. The shears might be a little on the cheap side but they'll cut clothes no issue. Small sharpie for writing down TQ application times, BP, etc.... helpful. The rest of the bandages are typical trauma bandages and could prove useful....although the above items are the stars of the kit.At $150, it's kinda high, but at least you're getting legit, quality materials. TQ and QC are about $60 retail. Chest seal, $15. The rest is minimal....$20 pouch, $5 shears, $15 in other bandages maybe. So definitely priced at a premium....which is fine IF you're not comfortable building your own. That being said, if you're not comfortable building your own, you owe it to yourself to become familiar with this stuff. Owning is like 10% of the battle....knowing how and when to use this stuff when you need it is 90%. Don't buy this and then try to unwrap the TQ out of the plastic when you actually need it....open the TQ, prep it, have it ready to go. The rest, I get, it's vacuum sealed to preserve them.Go on YouTube, watch some QUALITY videos on how to use the TQ and when to use QuikClot.I really would have like to see this kit come with a small, simple card....showing a diagram of where to apply different pieces and what to look for, since most people aren't trained to recognize punctured lungs, arterial bleeds, etc.Despite price and lack of instructional material, I still give 5 stars because you're getting vetted, quality products....not Chinese garbage.

Perfect…
This is perfect. Everything you need in one kit. Ready to go at a moment’s notice. Everything is standard quality and I think it is a great addition to my activities.

Some good stuff
Always a good idea to research anything you put into your first aid kit. this kit might seem intimidating if you don’t research and know how to use your supplies in a crisis. There are some quality products in this bag but there are some filler cheap stuff that I don’t see as being worth the price tag.I do like the tourniquet, it is a decent one 👍🏻I do like the vented chest seals and trauma gauze 👍🏻The rest of the stuff is good too but I’m not sure it’s all going to accumulate into enough to be worth the price.
