I was ordering medallions for the ceiling when I ran across several small medallions, including this one. The other two I ordered are made of a heavy resin type material, like the ceiling medallions. They are very nice too. I was expecting these to be stained like wood. But, they are unstained wood. I have not yet decided on the size and style I will keep. I have three styles in three sizes. I plan to line up three over a doorway. The 8" medallion is too large. It fits, but doesn't look right. If I keep this style, I will display 3 in a row as diamonds above the master bedroom doorway. The third one is a 5" round medallion and is a tad smaller than this one. It would look nice too.After ordering this one, I found a medallion with this flower, but in a square frame. For my use, I think this medallion, without the frame, will be a better choice.The wood feels smooth, but maybe not quite as smooth as the synthetic medallions. This wooden medallion feels more substantial. For my intended use, no one will be touching this. So, no worry about damage. I think the wooden medallion will last generations--even if it is handled.Natural wood has natural character. the wood has been glued together in strips, then fashioned into a medallion. Because the grain pattern isn't consistent on the three rosettes in this style, I would not recommend staining these.Beautiful craftsmanship.

I've been working on a secret-bookcase-door project for a few months, and I was seriously worried that sloppy miters would give away the whole show. So I decided instead to cut the trim square, and have the trim butt into a half-inch-thick square with this mounted on it.Now instead of the corners being a potential eye sore, they're one of my favorite parts of the project.I painted it with a 1.5" chip brush using undiluted latex paint-and-primer, just the basic stuff I had for the rest of the project. I was a little more careful than usual to put the paint on with several thin coats, but it was surprisingly straight forward.5-stars, will absolutely buy these or another design at the first opportunity.

These are very pretty, and they are slim in profile so they worked well with my project. My only suggestion is to spray paint them because there is a lot of little detail work to paint. Spray painting was quicker and gave you a more even coat. There is some rough edges or un-sanded areas within the carving that need a little extra paint or a quick brush with sandpaper. I did purchase the rubber wood ones, which aren't the best quality wood, so this problem may be eliminated with a better wood choice. Overall I really liked them and they look great in my bathroom.

Good quality pieces with almost no sanding needed before staining. Real wood with excellent craftsmanship.

my daughter-in-law loves these and has them on some cordals that support the fascia on her (exterior) house They are painted red and match the shutters and look gorgeous .. really add to the curb appeal of the cottage like home.

These wooden rosettes are very nice for decorations. They can be readily painted. The sanding job is OK and somewhat grainy if looked closely. However, the design is very nice. I ordered a few and some were flawed but most were good. Made in China according to label.

We put these on the end of flower boxes. The appliques are cute. I wish they came in a variety of sizes.

This is Great! Wonderful shape and design and ready for paint or stain. I will definitely order again and another probably in a different design . Several to choose from. Delivered quickly and in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend these for any project needing a decrotive touch.
