Fiskars 157650-1001 Traditional Bone Folder, 6 Inch , White

I have spent many years scrapbooking without a bone folder. Now I wonder how I could have managed without one. This one is very sturdy and gets the job done! It's also a good value.

I've been folding my work by hand and thought the results were good until I tried this item. It's very easy to score and crease with this device. Such a simple tool that gives fantastic results.

Just as I had expected. If I were looking for an animal bone I'd be looking in the woods somewhere or at a museum, although taking those would be rather illegal and most frowned upon by curators and other patrons that enjoy learning about history and seeing cool old things. As I'm sure this didn't come from either a museum or from the woods, considering that it is actually made of some sort of sturdy plastic, I'm happy to inform you that this is indeed a traditional bone used for artistic purposes and such.

This folder is actually nice quality, sturdy build with minimal seams so it doesn't tear through paper like cheaper bone folders. The only disappointment came when I first opened the package to find it was plastic and not bone, as I thought was implied by the title "traditional bone folder." I read the product description thoroughly, and nowhere did it say it was made of plastic. After using it I wasn't nearly as disappointed as it did the job I needed without ruining my paper, but it should probably be included somewhere in the description that this is, in fact, made of plastic and not bone.

I fold a great deal of origami, and this saves wear and tear on the fingernails and cuticles. Between this and the brayer (hard rubber roller), I no longer have chapped thumbs and index fingers. Of course it is plastic and not "bone", but then I wouldn't expect it to be so inexpensive. Unless the dog gets it or I throw it into the sink disposal, this will last a lifetime even in my klutzy fingers. Thanks!

I had purchased one of these several years ago and it had a nice weight to it. Felt good in your hands while using. It had gone missing, so I ordered a new one. I was a bit disappointed of the quality. This one is MUCH thinner, and does not feel good in my hands while using... pretty flimsy. It gets the job done, but nowhere near as nice as my old one.

As an Art Major focusing in Printmaking, this tool is extremely useful. Bone folders help you obtain a beautiful fold, as well as a clean tear. We've done some bookmaking in my printmaking classes as well, and I'm not sure how nice the books would have came out with this tool.
