This floating spiral shelf hangs on the wall via brackets welded to the shelf and drywall anchors. As soon as you put books on it, the brackets get hidden. Many first time viewers can't figure out how the shelf is hung. It is made up of smaller sections, which bolt together as you hang it up. The shelf is sturdy and easily handles being completely full of books. It also includes spacers (what you see in the photos between the books) to allow the books to take the form of the shelf. The books curve to the shape of the shelf, and the grinded aluminum surface design dances in the light. This shelf has a dual purpose in that it both decorates a room, as well as holds books. Since I put the grinded texture on myself, each shelf's pattern is unique and a little bit different. There is a protective, clear layer of paint over the bare metal. Hanging the shelf is simple, and can even be done by one person alone, although it is easier if you have a friend to help you. We include a paper setup of the shelf, which you tape on the wall to decide where to insert the anchors for your shelf. You partially assemble the shelf, install the anchors, then hold the shelf there while you screw it in.
