This adapter is clearly identified as compatible with the 2242 and 2230 SSD form factor for the A1708. The space on the adapter deck accommodates both sizes however the set screw holder is attached (maybe only in my case) very firmly to the 2242 set size. That means the 2230 drive is not held down properly. In the A1708 there are no other ways to attach the drive apart from where the missing screw bore/holder would be on the adapter. The seller is unable to provide direction, remedy or has any knowledge of the issue. In this case use the adapter only for the 2242 size. If you are reading this and have unluckily purchased the 2230 Sabrent Rocket which their listing recommends and are stuck use some Kapton Tape or electrical tape to secure the 2230 to the deck. Overall the Sabrent worked well with the adapter at 2630 MB read and 2970 write (about 4500 is spec from Sabrent) and temperature is steady at 33 C to 40 C. Seller was not knowledgeable about their own product and with the description issue this is 3 stars.

It’s a great purchase but sometimes doesn’t boot with charger in with bootcamp installed if you’re not looking for that it’s the best one you can fine
