It's really just a toenail clipper with loops. Mine is really sharp and the loops keep the nail clippers from slipping in my hands.I use these to cut the really thick claws on older cats. Many old cats have thick claws that don't split to reveal new sharp claws. They merely continue to get thicker and longer until they curve back and start growing into their toe pads. Using these, you must be careful not to cut the pads. It's not necessary to get that close. You just cut most of the way through the claw from the outer top edge towards the inside curve of the claw. If a little bit of claw is still intact near the pad, you can carefully try to cut it more, or hope that the remaining intact portion breaks off when the cat stretches or scratches on a post or catscratching pad.I was having issues with regular human nail clippers. Either I couldn't get enough leverage to cut through the claw, or the clipper handles would slip while I tried to maneuver them into the various positions needed to cut the claws. The loops really help keep the clipper secure while I worked and gave me the extra power to cut into very thick claws. I was able to trim four cats in quick succession with no accidents and minimal complaining.I use these in conjunction with the traditional scissors-style claw trimmers. They really work well.

I am a senior with some nerve inflammation and weakness in my dominant left hand. These clippers solved my problems instantly. Would be good for arthritis sufferers too. Well worth trying out.

It is well made but for me doesn’t work. It makes it harder than a smaller clip as makes my arm have to stretch farther which is what I was trying to avoid. It is well made however . I’m 73 so don’t think good for seniors. I will look for one that has an angle .

As we are aging, it becomes harder to cut our toenails. My husband swears by these clippers and I have used them as well. Simply makes reaching your feet so easy and the angle and handle is such that you won’t drop them. Absolutely would recommend this product.

I happy with this product. Very sturdy and my husband who had a stroke can do his nail much easier, without my help. Reason for a 4 stars and I'm being nice. Was the delivery date. Expected April 30. Received May 6. Only because I was persisted and found they didn't attempt to deliver. Hope this doesn't happen again.

Clippers are sharp to clip nails easily, but,I found the finger handles too small for comfort.

I received these clippers only a few days after ordering them. Some reviewers said they were helpful due to arthritis making it difficult to bend and cut toenails. Seems to be what I was looking for so I ordered them. I didn't know what to expect for the low price. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. They cut well and are gentle on the nail. The length is slightly longer than a standard toenail clipper so its easy to reach all of your toes. The grips are nice too.

I am sure these are perfect with someone with smaller fingers, but I cannot get a reasonable grip with these at all. I think if you're cutting someone else's nails these are fine, but I cannot use them - Assuming my problem because I have very large hands and feet. Good quality steel & handle.
