Drinks & Food at your fingertips (literally)
While binging on Netflix I tend to have to move and workout my abs in order to reach onto the table to grab my drink/pint of icecream... no more! Works very well on 6 inch wide armrest. Has some rough finish spots from the natural bamboo variations, but does not affect use.

Great mat or flat surface
I mostly use this for a serving tray/mat on the table. I put hors d’oeuvre dishes on it, plate of sushi, etc. I have not really used it on the arm of the sofa as we don’t eat in the living room; But I can see that being a good application if you do tend to eat in the living room. It is attractive, rolls up or fold as needed. Very nice for serving food or using as a flat surface on a thicker carpet, for a flat surface for playing games.

nifty little piece for a handy, couchside flat surface for drinks
If you have rounded armrests like I do, it doesn't work as a table while draped there...not enough rigidity of it's own. But it's a nifty little piece to hang there handily for when you need to set a beverage down. I just toss it on the seat cushion next to me.
