To be clear, there is a slight chemical smell, and the mattress is a lot heavier than you think it will be, so have an extra person with you when it is being delivered. There is no box as such, just a transparent wrap, but it expands almost immediately once you remove the packaging and allow it to rest. And it's definitely at the firmer end of the scale, creating a natural sense of buoyancy where your weight feels evenly distributed, with some degree of comfort. I just think that you will need a thick mattress topper or something of that nature if comfort is a priority to you, as sinkage seems to be limited to the occasions where you're sitting on the edge. It's arguably geared towards those looking to support the small of their back, which it does very well. But the mattress will push back when you lie on it, so don't buy into the notion that it's ridiculously comfortable, when the word relatively may be more appropriate. Delivery was via DPD with online tracking through the app, so you can reasonably expect a one-hour slot if I do need to mention that. Overall it's decent, it's just not the find it's being held out to be, so keep a sense of perspective if you're narrowing to a budget of around two hundred pounds......Edit: I've settled for two thick mattress toppers which I've positioned between the slatted base and the lower edge of the mattress. For lower back relief, it really should be on your short list, at least at this price bracket. Score increased.......

I really struggled to find an “all foam” mattress at a reasonable price that had good reviews. I spent ages on Amazon trying to find one, this was the only mattress that had all 5 star reviews, I also liked the sound of the cool gel top and delivery was quick so I ordered it. The mattress arrived the next day which was great service, I took it out of the box, laid it on the bed and left it til the following night to sleep on it. I’m used to a medium mattress and this one is definitely firmer, I suffer from back and neck pain so was concerned it would make me worse, I have to say I’ve slept well and the cool top is very pleasant, especially in this warmer weather. Really pleased with this mattress and would definitely recommend.

Changed from a single to a small double so needed a new mattress. After looking at a lot of mattresses I picked this one. It had everything I needed. It's a medium firm mattresses and very comfortable indeed. Delivered rolled up. Once the plastic wrapping is removed the mattresses then expands. It didn't take long to expand completely, It says wait 48 hours before using it but I needed it that night, so it was left for about 10 hours. There was no chemical odour at all. Very comfortable and I'm very pleased to recommend this mattresses.

Received this amazing quality single bed gel mattress 3 days back and I am already loving it. Its provides proper back support without being too firm. Very good option for people like me having consistent back pain issue, great alternative of springy mattress. Highly recommended.
