HJC HELMET
The helmet is awesome, but I needed an extra large instead of the large. I’ll get one later, wouldn’t just let me swap size from a large to an extra large.

Great upgrade but not for an oblong head
My last helmet was a medium HJC that I received as a gift in 2006. This medium HJC is much light and I love the modular option and the built in shades! I originally ordered the small because my head is 56cm, but it was toooooo tight front to back. So I returned it and ordered the medium. It fits but it still squeezes my head after awhile. I must have the oblongest head in the world! But I LOVE the color and the nice big head vent. And maybe the cushioning will eventually give way to my loooong head.

Fits fairly well...but
So I have owned this helmet for about 7 months now. It took about 1 1/2 weeks to break it in. I installed my packtalk bold system into the helmet with some slight difficulty but got it. The top vent is great. You can really feel the air rushing across your head which is nice in the summer heat. The front vent is lacking and can sometimes cause chafing of the lips. The ability to ride full faced, half face, or just let the wind blow in your face is nice. After owning it for a little bit I had worries about the hinge system. And then about 2 weeks ago, it happened. I tried to flip the chin bar back over my head and the right side hinge for the visor completely broke. Then after some monkeying with it, the left broke. Luckily I had my tank bag and just took the visor off and rode without. Mxgear are warrantying it and I will get a new one soon. But alas, I will probably sell it and get a simpler helmet.

A modular helmet, that don't rip your head off!
I ride a street fighter bike, and a normal modular helmet, with the chin guard up, will nearly take my head off! The way the chin guard on this helmet flips all the way to the back, prevents that. When riding at speed, this can feel either like a full face helmet, or a 3/4 helmet, depending on if you have the chin guard up or down. I'm not good with rating noise, and sound, as I don't have many helmets, but I will say it's neither silent, nor loud. It's also compatible with the great HJC intercom system!

Works great
Went to local motorcycle establishment to buy a helmet ( this helmet actually 😳) was told the price was pretty close to 400.00Husband said "That's pretty good "Me "Ha!ha!ha! You're funny."Ten minutes later I found the helmet as a return, and purchased at 200.00Thanks Amazon!

Headset Issues
Unlike the other model helmet I have, this model does not have an ear cover after you install your headset speakers. When removing or putting helmet on speakers come loose. I also found other components in lining poorly fitted. I returned it.

HJC modular or RPHA helmets run 1cm smaller in the HJL size chart.
Fit, would have prefer to get the Helmet swap, now i hqve return it and have ro eait 30 days before it gets returned and credited back, in the mean time, i have to put my bussines on hold, buying online is not applicable with this items.

Cheek pads too tight
I had read that HJC helmets run small. The Large size was definitely snug around the head (my head circumference is 23.5 inches), but cheek pads actually hurt my face. I pulled them out and they were labelled as size "Small". No response from HJC customer service when I asked if a different cheek pad size could be sent. So I had to return the whole helmet. Ordered a different style in an XL size.

Really good
This is an impressive modular helmet.I had a Scorpion before this that the latching pins became loose after a few years. This HJC is about the same weight, fits my XL head nicely (it's accurately sized)Well padded, got my Cardo freecom mounted with the sticky tape, don't have their bespoke system but it would mount to the rear I guess?Big pluses are it's a very quiet helmet. WAY quieter than my scorpion. Even on my naked 690 Duke where you're head is totally in the wind I can hear the music (I also wear earplugs regardless of the helmet)Internal sunshade works well with no distortion, lever is a bit tricky to find.Visor is mint, only helmet I've had that will stay open one click in the wind and not auto close at speed. It has very solid detents. Edges of screen are curved for strength, gives a solid feel and tight seal but create a bit of visual distortion which is a bit annoying but worth it for the quiet and solid feeling.Comes with a pinlock insert that was easy to install and prevents fogging- I leave it in all the time. No distortion or change to the screen clarity with it in. Visor removed and installed very smoothly with a clever release systemBest part is flipping the chin bar.Release is easy, rotates smoothly, latches solidity. When it's open is the best part... Doesn't act like a parachute at speed like my scorpion would- it only opened to the top of my head.Opening the top vent and actually air is felt on the top of my head! First time for that! The chin bar vent flips like a scoop and you really get air through that. Flows very good without really any extra noise.D ring buckle works as expected but the flap snap is high up, almost under my padding and it's hard to snap the extra. Just badly positioned which is too bad, it does flap on me sometimes.I really like this helmet! My first HJC and I'm impressed.
