My second Senz and I love it
I'm surprised to read the reviews about poor quality of the Senz umbrellas. I owned my first one for three years, using it heavily, before I sadly left it in a taxi and lost it. The quality was excellent. I just recently bought a new one that is now collapsable, and after two days of using it I think it matches the quality of the old one I lost. I'll repost later and change my rating if the umbrella fails, however, it seems good to me. This design noticeably does not provide much side coverage in rain, but I honestly prefer the modern styling and wind stability over staying dry below my mid-section.

frustrated
I knew this umbrela when I was flying on Japan Airlines. The design is vanguard and it`s promised it does not invertWell, I bought mine and my expectations were frustratedThe umbrella is not openning well-it stucks sometimes- and on a heavy windy rain it just INVERTED!Plus, I was waiting for a bubbly rose umbrela and I`ve just got the sunset red one!Too expansive for such a low quality!

Non-repairable, can't recommend
Mine lost a rivet after three years, and when I contacted the manufacturer, they responded that they do not sale (or send) spare parts. That translates in having to discard my umbrella and buy a new one. I prefer to support a company that makes products that last AND can be repaired.

Bought this because my wife and I both wanted to use the one we already had. This is her favorite color and it looks great and works just as well as the black one I brought home with me from the Netherlands. On one occasion, I was walking with this umbrella and my daughter's totes blew out while this one stayed strong. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Excellent Design
This is worth the extra dosh. The metal folding structure is stronger than most and the shape is designed for humans, unlike conventional umbrellas which seem to be designed for jelly fish.

huge let-down
I live in Santa Cruz, Bolivia where we get rains, and more so, high winds. I was excited to receive the umbrella since my Eddie Bauer umbrella had broken after two short months here. Well, the Senz broke after 2 days! As another review mentioned, it sticks when opening and closing, so it didn't take long for the amazingly cheap "metal" pieces to snap at one of the folding points. When it broke, I noticed that the support on the neighboring piece was already bending in a way that indicated it would break soon enough. When it did, I shelved it for a few weeks, utterly disgusted. Then upon bringing it out again, another piece snapped. It is now unusable. I hate this umbrella, it frustrates and disappoints me in the worst way. There is no doubt, I will never be buying Senz again. I thought my Eddie Bauer umbrella was bad, well, at least it doesn't claim to stand up against high winds and then break when it really faces them.

Strange design really works
This umbrella has served me well during nasty storms in Chicago and New York. Whereas my coworkers are fighting with their umbrellas or constantly replacing them, my Senz has withstood the punishment and continues working well even after being beat up from traveling on a plane every week.

Mine broke in 3 weeks, boo. Even indoors, it can't stay open because the bit that locks has broken. I didn't even get to test it in high wind because all we had was ordinary rain.
