This is a product that works WAAAAY better than those wire slicers. Easy to rinse off and store. Wished we would have found this years ago. With these cutter blades you have total confidence they will cut fruit or eggs without damaging the utensil.

Found that I use this for slicing other things as well. Works well on mushrooms as well as eggs.

Pros: Quality materials/construction. Slices & releases sliced food nicely. Has a strong lock mechanism for storage. Has a long handle with a thumb rest for stability in use. Slicer design recesses the slicing blades inside the plastic frame which prevents accidental injuries even when unlocked. Design is well thought out.Cons: As with all slicers, when handwashing a sharp utensil is still required to dislodge food from edges of slicing blades. Is bigger & heavier & takes up more storage space than what it replaced. Storing it in my kitchen "knife/utensil" drawer requires some finesse to get the drawer to close. I failed to take note of the measurements when I ordered, but kept it for all the "pro" reasons listed. Though it is bulkier heavier, and larger than I need for occasional household purposes it is a good value, especially with 100% satisfaction, guarantee & should last for many many years.

I don't review a lot of products. But this little item deserves a review. I had the normal kind of egg slicer with the wires and it was okay, but hard to clean. My husband put it in the dishwasher and one of the plastic guides bent and it never worked the same again. I kept using it though, just to make myself miserable LOL ... Finally one day I'd had enough but didn't want the same kind. Was searching and found this. I liked the fact that it wasn't flimsy wires and was dishwasher safe. I ordered it and LOVE it. It slices everything! They say the wire kind slices mushrooms and other things but it really didn't do it well. This does! Plus it truly is dishwasher safe. The only drawback (and reason I kept my other slicer) is it only does straight cuts, so I use the other one if I want to make a fancy schmancy salad and cut the egg into wedges. Other than that, this is a gem. Okay, that's it. Move along lol

I love this! I was worried it would squish the strawberries. But in fact if they are fresh, it cuts them nice and easy. Blades are strong and not flimsy

Works great for strawberries and mushrooms. Makes a mess if you’re trying to slice more than a couple eggs. It’s also not the easiest to clean. Even after immediately rinsing it off and running it thru the dishwasher there’s still egg yolk residue on the blades

I had an old tower slicer than I loved. Unfortunately, the container that the BLADES sit in, finally broke. Tried to find another only to find out the company discontinued the product. Since then, I have been trying to find a suitable replacement. I've tried mandolins (sliced my fingers), rotating slicers (feeder too big, food falls on side), and even egg slicers (wires broke trying to slice a mushroom). I tried this as a last resort (not expecting it to work). Was I surprised!!! First of all, it has blades, not wires. I was able to slice a quart of strawberries with NO problem. Sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and yes...the mushrooms. Not only easy to use but incredibly quick cleanup. The only thing I haven't tried yet are carrots. So far, I am VERY happy with this product!

We had those wire ones which say you can slice kiwi and some fruits. But the wires would break. This cutter has blades which hold up better and won’t bend.

Slices mushrooms fast, if mushrooms aren’t firm they don’t slice as well
