I recently purchased a Zhiyun Smooth Q iPhone gimbal, and I wanted to somehow attach an external microphone, a digital audio recorder, and a small light. After considering many different brackets I decided on this one, and I am very happy that I did.PROS:+ The bracket is very lightweight, yet sturdy.+ There are multiple attachment points:+ There are 2 very sturdy cold-shoes for attaching accessories on the upper bracket+ There's a 1/4-20 thread between the cold-shoes+ There's another 1/4-20 thread at the base for your camera or iPhone gimbal+ There's also a threaded hole at the base for attaching a small tabletop tripod or a tripod plate. This nut also has a threaded hole in the bottom which enables you to attach it to a tripod there as well. If you don't like the placement of the cold shoes or thumb screws, you can move them around and put them right where you need it.Tip: If you need more attachments at the bottom, you can add an additional threaded screw to the slot. I added an additional one for attaching a tripod ball head, to which I attach a digital audio recorder, to which I can attach a small shotgun mic. With this L Bracket I am able to attach and configure all the accessories to create a very well-equipped iPhone filmmaking rig. I sadly ended up not using these, but it is a really awesome product. SUPER sturdy and allows you a TON of options on how you want to set up your equipment, lighting, IR cam....WHATEVER. I ended up sending mine back ONLY b/c I decided to go in a different direction with what I was doing. If you are thinking about it at all, don't hesitate. I honestly don't feel like you'd be disappointed.

Nice addition to the camara! You can put it on the left or right side! You can screw on additional flash brackets as well! Sturdy not flimsy!

Bought this so that I can mount my camera monitor above my camera.Seems to work well but is not perfect.There is a small amount of "bounce" , but that is to be expected do to the way it is designed. A thicker metal would have eliminated this but at the price point is it totally acceptable.I wish that the bracket was constructed so that the top and bottom where perpendicular to each other .The way it is when the camera is leveled the monitor is canted up and to the left a bit. That has no effect on the use but looks a bit "OFF"Even with the camera sitting a bit to far right and the monitor a bit to far left the balance on my tripod seems OK .This will not be used as a hand held mount and only as a tripod mount . My other monitor mount was a 11 Inch Articulating Friction Magic Arm that I HATED ! clamped to one leg of the tripod .Over all very nice and a good price . Will update with any issues .

As a professional photographer, I bought a lot of these gadgets over the years. Each one has its own functionality. But this one has multiple functionality. Simple but rugged it gives you multiple options for attaching things to your rig from lights to microphones to wireless receivers. Made from heavy stock metal it’s never gonna bend or twist on you. That’s saying a lot for things like this. If you’re looking for a way to get a better handle on your camera and be able to attach lots of accessories, I do recommend this highly.

It's very useful but has a petrol smell to it

I wish this "Smart padded hand grip" would be a bit thicker and slightly more "rounded" for better hand grip. In other words, the padded grip is made of hard plastic. Another layer of some sturdy and softer material on both sides of the grip would make it more "hand friendly".I have used all the possibilities offered by this well-thought and well-built L Bracket mountOverall, it's the best hand grip I have and the "supplementary" 1/4” threaded hole on the bottom of the thumb screw showed very useful for the configuration that I adopted since I used it to attach the plate of my Manfrotto head on the Induro tripod I'm using for a Nikon 1 V3 Interview configuration.
