As I was shopping for a new garbage, I was like damn why are they all so expensive?!? Do I really want to throw away money on something to throw stuff away in?! My semi-cheap ass settled on this one after deciding I didn’t need it to “control” odor, automatically open, or be a referee for my household arguements. I am not one who can picture the size of something by reading dimensions and from my experience I am always told something is bigger than what it actually is, so so was not expecting much from this. It came in box all set to go, so when I pulled it out I looked at this with the confirmation that the size looked smaller than it bragged. I put it in the designated spot and put a trash bag in it. Well I have been putting my trash in that same bag for over a week now!!! Normally we be changing the garbage every other day but this bin is Deceptively large. And there is no odor, so I am so happy I was not tricked into that gimmick of odor control. So happy I pulled the trigger and got this.

The media could not be loaded.  My Sam’s club 13 gallon bags fit no problem and don’t show from the outside. It arrived with no dents or scratches in a box that was about 3.5ft tall which was hard to get inside. I’m 4’11”. It can be pushed pretty close against a wall or cabinet and still open with out stress on the lid or pedal. It is however in no way smudge resistance and the lid does seem to be a bit flimsier than my old simple human can. It is soft close but does make a small thump when it settles and if you push it too close to a wall/cabinet. This was also $60+ cheaper so I’m not complaining. We’ll see how it holds up and I’ll report back.

I've had this for 2 months now, and it has held up well to daily use. Drawstring style thirteen gal. trash bags are pretty easy to fit around the top of the plastic liner and don't show when the lid is closed. Liner is easy to remove for cleaning. Step opener seems solid so far. Lid is easy to control, has enough time to put in trash before slowly closing, or you can just push back the lid to keep it open if you're throwing away a lot of stuff, emptying a vacuum dust cup, etc. Lid has a bit of side to side play and sometimes will make a slight clanging noise when it shuts, but not a deal breaker for me. I have this on a vinyl floor, against a wall, and with regular use it does move too close to the wall, resulting in the lid sometimes hitting the wall. I solved this problem by putting a strip of styrofoam on the floor between the can and the wall. Although this is a thirteen gallon trashcan, it does have a significantly bigger footprint compared to my old thirteen gallon plastic trash can. Outside of can is easy to wipe down, fingerprints aren't really a problem when using the step opener. I really like the odor control this can has, I've noticed absolutely no bad smells from the can when closed. Pretty happy with this purchase.

One of the things I like the best about this trash can is the fact that you can pop a 13 gallon trash bag in there hook it around the edges and it doesn't slip down into the trash can you don't have to fiddle around with it trying to hook it on to something It just fits perfectly. I'm sure that's a strange thing to obsess on but I hate nothing more than a trash bag that doesn't stay in place or falls down into the trash can. This receptacle is the perfect size. I like the configuration in that flat on the back and rounded on the front so if it's nicely against the wall. Thus far I've had no problems with fingerprints or it having hand prints all over it. Overall it's a very good purchase and after looking at Walmart first, this one is much more heavy duty than the Walmart one and for the same or nearly the same price.

After reading reviews I was worried that this would arrive damaged, but it was the best choice for the price that I could find so I ordered it anyway. Sure enough, it came with a dent in the side. The box is not damaged, so I would conclude that it had to be dented prior to shipping. It’s a smaller dent and I was able to knock *most* of it out, and that side sits against the wall, so it still works for me.The can itself is sturdy, easy to insert and remove standard size drawstring kitchen trash bags, and the foot pedal works nicely and seems like it will hold up. I was afraid it would feel small, but I can stuff it as full as my old plastic one. I like that I can scoot it out from the wall a bit and leave the lid standing open for a while if I need to.Overall, I definitely recommend it, but the possibility of it coming dented is very real.
