I read with HORROR some of the reviews that spoke of this hat coming folded down the middle with an impossible to remove crease. Mine did NOT come that way—the whole brim was on top with the back “veil” tucked under. I would have sent it back otherwise—I made sure there was a “free return” policy just in case someone did crease the hat. The color is a beautiful fuchsia, bright but not ridiculous—my husband will find me easily visible when we are hiking or in a crowd. The front brim provides coverage for my whole face—the hat is UPF 50+ and it comes with a LIFETIME warranty against defects in material or workmanship. I am VERY happy to say that it is NOT a product of Comminist China, but rather Vietnam. You can hand wash it in cold water but the UPF will only allow for 30 total washes. That seems reasonable since I won’t be wearing it every day—it should last through a lot of years as my walking and hiking hat. I LOVE the very functional feminine style—the back fabric cascades over your neck and shoulders so no sunscreen is necessary there (depending on your shirt—I mostly wear regular t-shirts or 3/4 length sleeve shirts with complete shoulder coverage). I hate the greasy feel of sunscreen on my skin so this is the perfect hat for me. I will only need some sunscreen (probably) on my chin and the sides of my cheeks that are not covered by my long hair. I think this hat is VERY well made and a GREAT value for the price. I only wish that it had come in royal blue also (which would have gone with more of my clothes).

I do love this hat I’ve been wearing them for many years and many colors. I wish they’d bring back the Perry blue, though, which is like a French blue that was my favorite color. I do like it when the brim and the outside of the hat is white, and then the inside of the hat is a different color Like light blue or blue that way my hair is gray and white so it stands out

This has a beautiful color & would provide great sun protection. Unfortunately, it was just a little too snug for my bigger-than-average head & was less breathable than SunDay Afternoons M/L Sun Goddess, which was the winner for me. I do Love the elegance of the neck drape.

Super cute hat. Great for protection from the sun and rain. Stays put with adjustable straps and isn't too hot (hiking in Arizona and Hawaii).

If your head measures 21 1/2" - 24" this is a great hat for you outdoors. The brim is enormous and shades your eyes with ease. There is a pony tail hole so you can pull a braid or pony tail through it for greater comfort and stability. There is an adjustment strap to tighten the cap circumference. The chin cord has a reliable adjustment toggle to keep the hat from blowing off in windy weather. The neck drape is ample. You can pack this flat or roll it for trips. The fabric is SPF 50 and is quick drying. I got mine in the color Amethyst, which is like an orchid purple. I use it for gardening and hiking at high altitude. Only detraction of this design, compared with other Sunday Afternoon hats, is the lack of ventilation. It can get hot inside the hat when wearing it in a desert. That's why I say 4/5 stars.Update 8/9/2023I took this hat with me on a 10 day trip to a sunny destination where I did a lot of walking while wearing a back pack. Even though I looked like a dork, I kept that chin strap snug. There were some incidents when wind gusts blew the brim backwards and the hat fell backwards off my head. That was annoying. I am not lowering my rating but certainly am not raising it. I continue to love the color and large brim.

I needed a hat for sun protection while going outdoors in tucson az.Beautiful color, great fit and function w adjustable options.People in reviews were bent out of shape about the bill being bent apon arrival.But I was planning on mine getting crammed in a stroller, and getting dunked in the pool by my toddler so I figured I could live w a wonky hat brim. Fortunately I cant even tell where that original fold from being shipped was located.Love this hat and got my daughter a kid size that has similar color as mine so we can match, lol.

I just got the hat, I agree with other reviewers who stated that the hat is mailed in such a way that it is folded and leaves some hard to remove creases in the brim in front that look terrible. With that said, I like the color of the hat, I went with the sand/cream color with a tan underside. I wanted a light colored sun hat to help keep it cooler on me. This hat is made from a nice light fabric and the brim in the front is the perfect size to keep the sun off of my face, I just had to deal with pre-cancer spots on my face and wanted a hat to protect me. I have another sun hat that I wear outside doing yard work and gardening but it has a stiff large brim all around and I do not like that it hits my back when I put the head back, it's really annoying to me, so was looking for something with a soft back and this works perfectly for that! I am looking forward to fishing and fun outside with this new hat!

I have many hats/ caps from this brand and this one didn’t work for meI didn’t like the style or the material

These hats - not the most fashionable but when you don't want to get a sunburn or lather on too much sunscreen these things are a lifesaver. Amazing for the kids, good for the adults.

Best hat for summer. It can keep my neck and whole face out of sunlight! Bought one for my son and husband as well.

Great sun hat. Very light weight, well ventilated and does the job of keeping the sun off your face and neck. If I needed another hat I would buy this same one without hesitation.
