Not great..
I know this is supposed to be 'Russia's Shakespeare," but in translation it comes off more like Russia's Mother Goose, or Ogden Nash. It's really bad poetry in translation. Maybe it's one of those things that simply can't be done; but I can't help feeling it's a short-coming of the translator. There is extraordinary poetry in English that adheres to the strictest metrical requirements, from - well, Shakespeare onwards.Either that, or Pushkin isn't very good...

Great Translation!
It is an ungreatful task to translate any kind of literature work, particularly poetry. But this translation is beautiful! The music of the Russian verses is preserved in it. The meaning is rendered extremely close to the original. Try this translation. You will appriciate it.
