Adapter ONLY - Pet Feeder and Bowls are Sold Separately

Summary: works great, does exactly what you want it to.Long form: Due to the way the PetSafe feeder spits food out, it's very easy and reliable for this splitter to split the cat food extremely evenly. Perhaps one bowl will get a few more kibbles or bits one day and the other bowl a few more another day, but your pets can't count that high so they won't be upset. I was concerned that the splitter adapter was going to fall out as some reviews suggested. This was not an issue for me after I installed it correctly, but I absolutely understand why people were having problems. This splitter requires you to insert a square tube into a tight square hole. To do this, you need to line it up just right. It needs to slide in about 3/4". When I first tried to install it, I wasn't lining up the square tube in the hole properly, so only one side of the tube was sitting inside it. It's an unexpectedly tight fit, but I think it needs to be for the splitter to stay in place. But after 6 months, I've had zero issues and the splitter is still set in the feeder securely.

This works and fits perfectly with the PetSafe feeder. Due to the nature of how the foot is dispensed (and not anything to do with this splitter), it kind of shoots out the end which took some fussing around with the food bowls so that the food ended up in them and not all over the carpet, but I got it sorted. Portions aren't precisely equal on both sides every time, but I feel confident that it evens out over the course the dispensed meals all day.I have a fat cat who is very greedy and manages to inhale his food and start in on the other cat's food before Other Cat is even halfway through, and Other Cat just lets him at it. This splitter isn't going to magically fix those kind of problems, but I found that setting the feeder to "slow feed" gives Other Cat enough time to scarf down 90% of the small portion before Fat Cat comes sniffing around, several times in a row as portions are dispensed over about 15 minutes. I know that's not exactly due to this product, but without the splitter it would be a Battle Royale to get to one bowl of food and the end result would be an even fatter Fat Cat and a hungry Other Cat, and I went into this purchase knowing I was getting the feeder and splitter at the same time for this specific purpose and problem.Only downside is this feels a bit on the expensive side--however, I don't have a good reference for the costs of 3D printing, so this may be a perfectly acceptable price. I totally believe this is worth it, just wish I hadn't had to add $30 on top of an already expensive feeder.

I first bought one of these from another maker/seller that was less expensive, and it didn't fit well and kept popping out no matter how I put it in. I was hesitant to buy another one but went ahead after reading the reviews on the product and the company's customer service. This came boxed with tips on how to install and to contact them with any issues which I loved. It's a very easy install, but this was still much nicer to see than a box with no info in it at all. Best part is, is that this actually works! My two rambunctious, always starving (not really, but acting like they are) 7 month old kittens haven't managed to knock it out yet. They even try digging around in it for more food and surprisingly it still stays. It seems to dispense pretty equal amounts of food, and I'm happy my cats aren't sharing a bowl or scrambling around on a mat for their food like they were before. Glad I decided to try this product!

Edit 1/26/17-Seller sent another product (unprompted!) and this one fits and works as intended. When I put them side by side I noticed the original one was slightly smaller and irregular where it was to be installed into the feeder. It also looked a little warped where it dispenses- no idea what happened maybe it was just a dud. This current one fits snugly and works as intended. It is appreciated that the seller stood behind their product. Still trying to remove the original bowl ring without having to cut it out.Purchased as one of our cats monopolized the bowl and the other began loosing weight. 3D printed which is super cool so there are ridges all over it including the inside- the inside is NOT smooth. The front portion sits almost snugly but the back flops about. It doesn’t sit in very deep to the dispenser and Just a slight bump and it falls out. The food dispensed just sat in the main portion before the two shoots which left my two boys less than Impressed with me. I don’t know that this is worth $30 plus shipping for what it is and as it doesn’t work I feel pretty silly for making the purchase.

I absolutely love this product! I kept putting off buying it because I had read a few negative comments but now I wish I had bought it sooner! I think the key to it is to ensure it’s inserted all the way into the pet feeder. That means getting down on your hands and knees and giving it an extra little wiggle. Don’t be afraid to give it an extra little push! Once it’s in there it works perfectly! It divides the food evenly between two bowls and I honestly think it’s easier for my two cats to eat now. Before I had I tried placing one bowl under the feeder but was afraid one would push his brother out of the way and get most of the food. I tried the “cafeteria tray” method many people suggested by placing just a tray under the feeder but that just caused food to go everywhere and mostly cluster against the edge of the feeder where it was hard for them to get at. Introduce this splitter adapter and problem solved! The bowls I use also have a slightly higher rim so the splitter even holds them in place. No mess, easy access for my cats, and even amounts of food. It’s a great product that I highly recommend.
