Wonderful Last Resort Tool
Perfect for refilling 20 year old fridge. Obviously piercing the closed refrigeration system was the last thing I wanted to do. All other components were checked first. A few replaced too.A few of the parts I bought came with piercing valves. This valve is clearly superior. More heft. Also a bigger gasket to prevent leaks.I know I am not supposed to leave it attached long term. But knowing that I already have a leak, I’ll deal with filling every couple of years with this valve and live with the extra bit of leak on the low side.

Definitely love them for R134 taps. R12 and R22, too
They work. Make sure you tighten the cap. Make sure you double check the clamping screws too!

Good piercing valve
Valve was installed on the low side line of a refrigerator which was not cooling very well.It is easy to install and has been working well so far. I have not used a sniffer to test for leaks but a week after adding refrigerant and the refrigerator is holding the temperature well.I plan on buying a refrigerant sniffed and when I do, I will check the valve for leaks and if I find any, I will update the review. For now, it works perfectly.

Great device to add freon to my mini fridge!
Installed beautifully! Holding so far. Will update if it fails. I did have a full set of a/c hoses for my car to be able to install the freon.

Easy to Install Supco Valve
An appliance repair technician told me my 6 year old Frigidaire refrigerator needed a new compressor which he didn't recommend as he hasn't "had good luck" with that. So, he recommended a new refrigerator. Mine is a built in Frigidaire, about $2000. The store told me it would be about 2 months before they could get one as production was affected by Covid-19. I could not accept that the compressor was bad as I could put my hand on it and feel it running. So I tested it with an ohm meter after watching a YouTube video. It tested good. So, I thought I would take a chance and buy what I needed to add refrigerant. Again, I watched several YouTube videos. I then ordered the gauge set and this Supco valve from Amazon. Then I bought a can of R134A from WalMart. My total investment was less than $50. Using what I learned from the videos, I installed the valve and proceeded to add refrigerant. The refrigerator immediately started cooling and in about an hour and a half it made it to the set temperature of 36*. After 48 hours it's still cold. I have checked for leaks around the valve with soapy water and found none. This was a great learning experience and I have a cold refrigerator for a very reasonable expenditure. Plus I have a gauge set that I can use in the future.

This is a big money saver
Found a YouTube video showing how to recharge a refrigerator. In the video, this, along with the “ Enviro-Safe 3226 Can Tap with Gauge “was being used,. Searched Amazon and located it. Don’t listen to no sayers which tell you that you must call a technician. If you purchase this, along with Eviro-Safe 3226 Can Tap with Gauge, and get a can of Freon, you can recharge your refrigerator without depleting your money at a lot less than purchasing a used or new refrigerator.

Great way to save money . Used this tool to refill my refrigerator low 134 A REFRIGERANT charge.
The Supco BPV31D Bullet Piercing Valve I Purchased on Amazon for a very low costsaved me a lot of money . I repaired my side/byside refrigerator with this kit. I watchedvideos on line showing how to refill a low refrigerant charge on a refrigerator. I followedthe steps to use the piercing valve kit and it worked ; it was fairly easy to do and I didfill and fix the problem. My refrigerator is quite old but still works great. It is not worthtrying to find a small leak to fix. I know if it goes low again I can fix it in the future. Thanks
