Le Ballon Rouge (French edition of "The Red Balloon"

Bought book so grandchildren can learn the French version for The Red Balloon which they love.

This is a wonderful little book for children and adults. I’ve used it when teaching and have given it to my son and his daughter.

It's really cute book. Simple and nice to use when you're trying to learn french!

I have a previous copy, but had misplaced it. I ordered a duplicate so I would find my first copy and I did.

A few days ago a friend sent me a "You Tube" clip, concerning a man in Bend, Oregon who took a long distance flight, on his lawn chair, supported by numerous helium balloons. Perhaps it is mere coincidence, but I strongly suspect he was inspired by this enduring children's classic. I checked on the book's status on Amazon, and was surprised that no other reviews were posted, so let me be the first.The story is about a lonely French youth whose mother is more concerned about the finely polished floors of her apartment than her son's desire to have a pet. His alienation from the various bureaucracies that affect his life, from school to the transportation system, is portrayed in meaningful anecdotes. The story contains a touch of first love, and its heartache, as well as the cruelty and bullying of other youthsPascal reaction is to retreat into a world of fantasy, adopting a red balloon as his "pet." For "nostalgia buffs," it is also a classic, since the setting is the Paris of the `50's. I've seen the movie several times; read the book to my children, in their youth, innumerable times. They never grew tired of it. The book is in French, so if that wonderful skill has yet to be managed, the movie, with subtitles is the answer.If you are concerned about the latest "pollution" Hollywood is pouring out on your children, you'll find Le Balloon Rouge a breath of fresh air for your kids.

This beautiful classic is as enjoyable now as it was when it was first made. It arrived promptly, well packed and we would recommend it for family viewing.

Voulais faire cadeau à des petits neveux de cette jolie histoire lue dans mon enfance : grosse déception : l’ouvrage ne correspond en rien dans la présentation au livre de mon enfance. Cette version « poche » minimaliste est décevante et ne fait pas rêver. Reste le texte bien sûr de qualité et indémodable..

Très loin de l'album , du livre que j'ai connu, je pensais avoir cela , c'est pour cela que je l'avais commendé

Comme "Bim le petit âne" et "Crin Blanc" le Ballon Rouge ferme la trilogie des films qui nous ont fait rêver il y a "un certain temps" !A l'heure de "Star Wars" c'est évidemment décalé... mais se laisse regarder par les nouvelles générations...
