Worked great for my garden beds, some of my flowers required 4-6 inches depth for planting and this tool helped me take the guess work out from blindly measuring. I like that it comes with a durable leather case-looks of high quality, this tool is not heavy, it has an appearance of an expensive kitchen knife and it’s easy to use, just shove it in the dirt twist and plant! It can cut through really dry and tough soil.

Just received my SHALL horihori gardening knife and put it on my belt today. Showing it to my grown son, he liked it so well, was so impressed with how sturdy and well made both tool and sheath are, and was so enthusiastic about wanting one just exactly like it for metal detecting, I gave it to him and am ordering another for myself! Full tang, multiple rivets, sturdy blade with sharp edges, strong multiple layer leather sheath with retention strap and snap, and rivets at all stress points, and heavy duty precision stitching. The blade is much more substantial than I thought from seeing the pictures. So pleased with this! Obviously, buying another so soon! The handle is slim near the top, and I have large hands with nerve damage, so I may wrap the handle with paracord to make it a little thicker and a more natural grip for me.

Saw this tool used on many gardening shows and purchased my first one. Very handy for getting a very deep weed. I like and use the serrated edge. Like the measurements for planting. Found it so useful that this is actually my second purchase for my daughter to use when she helps me with my garden.

I was looking for a sheath for my 1st hori knife. Love(d) the knife but it is so sharp that I immediately made a slice in that sheath.The Shall knife is beautifuly made and thick. Perhaps not as sharp but use the soil doesn't really require a razor edge. I also cut myself on my 1st one.I like the size and grip of the Shall. As a gardener, I find it useful enough to be the 1st thing I strap on when I work in my gardens.

If you manually weed and you haven’t tried any of the hori hori knives you’re missing out! These knives are so easy to use and so good! This is my third one (the previous two are somewhere in the garden I’m sure). The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because I’m comparing it to the other two hori hori knives I owned. This one seems slightly thinner (but still thick enough to not break while trying to remove huge dandelions, something that almost took over my entire backyard at one point). Also the end of the knife ie metal and it’s not very grip friendly comparing to wood.

Worked great for cutting overgrown grass from around sprinkler heads.

I thought people were just hyping up Hori Hori knives. But legitimately, they're a great product. I am a lazy gardener, and don't want to bother having five or six tools lined up as I'm working. This does a pretty good job at everything. It is also sharp enough to cut through those plastic soil bags like butter.If you have a large garden plot, this is probably best used as a backup tool. But if you do lots of planters or smaller plots, you can get away with doing almost everything with this.Build quality seems fine for the few days I've used mine so far. I thought it looked a bit flimsy until I actually started using it. Now I worry I'm going to puncture or break my plastic planters with this thing.
