A real game changer
I work with children diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. I read this book and shouted (yes out loud) "Someone finally gets it!" This is a must read for anyone who works with these kids. If you don't have a background in the field, read it anyway and bull your way through it. You'll find it very helpful.

Excellent for Therapists and Adoptive Parents
This book is worth its weight in gold. Gold for the therapist who wants to be competent in treating complex trauma in children and the adoptive parent who needs a clear brain based understanding of what is going on inside their child and how to parent therapeutically from the inside out.

Trauma and brain
Lucid summary of brain-behavior research; user-friendly for clinicians and educators. Useful information for parents also. Applicable for both therapy and classroom.

If you are a parent - this book is way ...
If you are a parent - this book is way too complex. It's clearly written for someone who has a background in neurobiology...not the everyday parent. Clinicians, therapists, and social workers may find this book helpful.

Highly recommended
What a great book! It's a perfect mix of a sound, biological foundation and very practical examples on how to actually relate to traumatized children. Its very readable, written in clear words and of great value not only for therapists but also for caregivers.

Highly Recommend!
This title sounds like it has the potential to be quite dull and difficult to read, nevertheless, as a social worker working with children in care, I decided to give it a try. I was really impressed with how accessible the writing is, and the information is incredibly relevant. Chapter 1 is a little heavy on the jargon, but still understandable. Chapters 2-4 are easy to read and have some great information. I'm only up to Chapter 5, but I'm loving it so far! Highly recommend.
