Wholesome, healthy and unique recipes!
I stopped buying recipe books since I can find almost any recipe online now. But after seeing Bobby Deen on the Today show talking about his new book I just had to have it. I love the fact that he is making an effort to make meals healthy and delicious. My husband and I eat mostly vegetarian meals but also have fish or seafood a couple times a week. There are plenty of recipes in this book to satisfy our weekly menu. My favorite recipe is the Kale and 3 bean chili. It is unique from any vegetarian chili I have tried before and is wholesome, satisfying and flavorful with a little spicy kick. My husband loves it (with a side of cornbread) and requests it at least once a week and I've given the recipe to many friends who have tried it and love it. Can't wait to try the pasta and bean soup with pesto, southwest corn chowder, shrimp coconut curry & many, many more recipes! Wow, I'm getting hungry just thinking about all of them! The recipes are all easy to follow and quick to prepare. Thanks Bobby for making healthy eating fun, yummy and a lot easier!!

This is one of my new Favorite cookbooks! There are so many amazing recipes, all full of flavor, and easy to make! Among my family's favorite recipes are: the shrimp coconut curry (YUMMM), the pan-fried tilapia with cajun butter (to die for... my mouth is watering just remembering how delicious that dish came out!!!), the green chicken chili (fantastic flavors!!!!!), and the beef lettuce wraps (OMG the taste of the beef was like hardcore authentic vietnamese flavored and it was so much fun to eat and can I repeat how tasty this was???). I look forward to trying many more of these recipes! And the pictures are high quality and enticing!

Loved this cookbook!
I loved the southern recipes with greens, etc. prepared in a healthy way. Also, liked the easy ingredients and fast preparation time. A lot of the recipes have delicious relishes that you can use with other dishes. Fish tacos with avocada pico de gallo and spicy tuna pasta with olives and tomatoes are excellent!

This book is a replacement for my original copy. Great recipes and healthy food.

Excellent Recipes for making great tasting daily food
The problem with a lot of cookbooks is that they are just over the top. They give you a lot of recipes that are good but you couldn't possibly eat every day. The kind of things you are willing to go out and buy at a restaurant or bakery but not something you could eat every day. With Bobbly Deen's cookbooks, this is every day food made to taste great to take everyday eating to a new level. So far all the recipes I have made in this book have worked perfectly and tasted great and you can eat them over and over again.The only critique I would have is that sometimes to make the calorie count extra low he increases the servings to pretty low amount. One chicken dish was about 220 cal for 8 servings. I think that even a weight-watching person the dish was really more like 4 servings. But even then it is only 440 cal.

Finally! A cookbook for real people!
I don't usually write reviews but this book warrants one! I'm not a fan of most cookbooks because there are usually only a small handful of recipes in them that we would ever eat and that use "real" ingredients and not hard-to-find things. This cookbook is amazing!! Bobby Deen has a new greatest fan! These recipes are simple, regular foods, delicious and healthy...all my requirements. :-) These are literally every day "real people" foods made healthy and yummy! Nothing fancy or hard to pronounce. This is my favorite cookbook! Every time there's something new on the table my family pipes up, "Bobby Deen?" To which I respond, "DUH!" :-) If you like real, simple and healthy...GET THIS BOOK! Your family will love you! ;-)

Not for everyone.
Realistically, I probably won't eat anything out of this book. It's a bit of a snobbish way to eat really. Normal people will not be fixing meals like this. The ingredients are expensive, hard to find and tend to be regional. If you life in New England you can probably find most of the ingredients. However, in the south, they are not widely available. I like the thought of eating healthy, but my wife thought I was crazy for even suggesting we eat like this.My opinion is he is just trying to make a living off his mother's fame. If you have millions of dollars you can probably eat like this. But you'll most likely have someone to cook it for you! So why the cookbook?
