Watch the YouTube video from the actual manufacturer, it really helps. It took about 35 mins from beginning to end. Now I can beach the boat without worrying about scratching it.

I installed this 9Ft keel shield on my 23 Yamaha 222XE and it’s worth every penny. I had this keel shield on my wave-runners and they do an amazing job in protecting your keel from constant abrasions. Especially if you life to beach your watercraft’s . Install was not difficult just make sure to prep the surface well. The pictures posted are from the day after using the boat in the lake .

I just bought a 18' Nitro Z7. The boat didn't come with a keel protector and I could notice the wear on the keel. I read a ton of reviews and watched a youtube about this product and decided to give it a try and put it on myself. I purchased the 6 foot bc I felt the 7 foot would be overkill. If you have a 18 foot boat, 6 foot is all that you need. I opened the pack, read the instructions and put it on myself in my garage. I live in Louisiana where it's 100 degrees outside right now and let the shield sit in the sun for 15 minutes to be easier to work with. It literally took my 15 minutes to put this on by myself and it works perfect.The instructions tell you to draw an outline of the shield and/or mask off the area you are working with. I didn't go through all of that bc I'm impatient and it really was a waste of time IMO. If you're a perfectionist, go for it. Just takes more time. As far as the application, I just marked the middle (7th) rise with a white crayon so I could use it as a guide going down the keel for a centerline. I layed flat on my back under the boat with the keel of the boat centered above me where I was applying. I placed the shield down the center of my body, placed it where I wanted it to start at the top and worked it all the way down like the instructions said. Very easy. I'm just your average Joe who has never done this before and it couldn't have been easier. I'm happy with it so far, let's hope it stays on!

This is the second keelguard I have purchased. The first one was great, easy to install and after more than a year was still protecting the boat it was used on when I sold it. I wanted to install one on my new boat and ordered one for it. The shipping was fast.

Very good product but a little hard to apply. You need 2 people to do this ,but when done correctly its there for good.

Perfect for my Yamaha 195s. Goes on very easy. Just let it warm up in the sun and then attach it about a foot at a time.

Just applied one of these to the bottom of my boat, followed the directions to a tee and hit the water a few days later. In very rough water, lots of chop, I thought for sure that I would notice a few bubbles or something in the adhesion. NOPE. Solid and secure. The only recommendation I have would be is this, it is nearly impossible to put on a 7 foot strip of anything on anything and have it perfectly centered. I suggest using some painters tape to support the entire thing from beginning to end and then following the directions of pulling off a foot at a time to ensure that it remains centered. I noticed zero performance degradation, I know some others had wondered about that. I highly recommend this for anyone that has to "beach" their boat to get it on and off a lake, etc.

Installed myself in an hour total. Minimal prep needed. Several youtube videos on install. If you are handy at all yiu can save yourself a $150 installation fee.
