Resolved troubling transmission issues for me
These sensors are a god send! I was ready to write off my wife's old 2003 Honda Pilot for good. After 284k miles, it has had a good long life. About 2 months ago it suddenly developed transmission troubles going into reverse as well as shifting up from 2-3, and down from 3-2. We purchased a different car for her, and decided to relegate this vehicle to third car status if I could get it operational again.Symptoms: When shifting into reverse there was a long delay until the vehicle reversed, and when shifting into and out of 3rd gear the engine would rev until the gear caught. The check engine light even came on with a code P0730 for "Incorrect Gear Ratio"After watching many YouTube videos, reading tons of forums, and looking through the factory service manual, I found that the most likely culprit was one of these pressure sensors. The sensor that resolved the issue for me was the black sensor in this set which is for the third gear. It is mounted behind a metal guard plate on the transmission which is accessible from the drivers wheel well with the wheel turned all the way to the left. All you need to do is undo a few body pins to move some of the wheel well splash guards out of the way, and with a 22mm deep well socket and a ratchet you can have the sensor swapped out in just a few minutes. I did lose an ounce or less of ATF, so you may want to have a paper towel or catch pan ready. The brown sensor is located in the same general area as the black sensor, it is on the front of the transmission more so than the side of the transmission. I did not replace that sensor (for forth gear) yet as I wanted to isolate the issue to the third gear sensor. For now I will keep the 4th gear sensor on the shelf for it/when it goes out. Some people have had issues with third party sensors on Honda's, and if this sensor fails I plan on replacing it with a genuine Honda sensor. In troubleshooting I didn't want to spend more money on parts to only find that something else was the issue. Overall happy with the sensor, and will update the review if it fails down the road.Long live our Pilot!

Works…for a short time
Installed one of these solenoids on a 2000 odyssey rebuilt transmission ( had 10k miles on it since being rebuilt) last summer due to OBD II shifting diagnoses P1738 and feeling at times the transmission severely lurching at times for a downshift or upshift between 1’st and 2’nd gear when the gas pedal was applied, (even moderately ). Replacement part from 🇨🇳 China fixed it …for about 12k miles /10 months. Then…the P11738 code returned …and shifting was again becoming a little rough between 1st and 2nd gear. I replaced the solenoid ..again… but THIS TIME with a Genuine Honda Made in 🇯🇵 Japan OEM part- bought off of eBay . Cost about $58 for the one eBay-bought solenoid versus $18 for both ( high/low pressure pair bought from Amazon). Problem solved . No more P1738 codes;up and downshifting is 100% smooth . This is a time to spend the money and get the original factory part and not a cheap low-cost Chinese knock-off. In the long run you will save time and money and unnecessary, abusive, potentially -costly-to fix-later premature wear on your transmission clutch friction discs.
