What can I say. The quality of this product revision was seriously abysmal! I currently have the After Glow 2 (C67ML Grey-Edition,e-ink Pearl, 212 PPI) and that one performed better! Backlit on my AfterGlow 2 was even, no random touches, it's absolutely perfect.I was excited to get this device but oh boy, it wasn't worth the wait at all. It was not worth it getting this device. Aside from the erratic behavior and somehow slower software compared to my AfterGlow 2, it was not adequate in terms of using it as a full-time reader. Some of my books wont even load, even when it states that they are within the supported format.The 300 ppi screen was a great bonus but if the software and hardware is quite flaky, then it's no use! Furthermore, the battery usage was quite terrible, even with the so-called 3000 MaH upgrade.This product was returned after much deliberation, with trying to fix and update it but failing to meet expectations.If you want a stable and straight to the point e-reader, I suggest you get a Kindle Paperwhite instead.

Update 2 days later: Screen cracked while in jacket pocket for about 15 minutes. No major pressure or jarring. NOT RECOMMENDED. Screens this fragile need to be recalled. Kindle PaperWhite screens are nowhere near this fragile.Original review as follows:Pros:Awesome screen. Sometimes I read on this just to appreciate the text.Android based.Can run your favorite Android e-reader app (i prefer the Moon+ Reader interface but there are some minor display problems and background color tweaks that must be done inside the reader to optimize the experience).Not locked to Amazon Kindle ecosystem.Nice even white back light.Slightly smaller, lighter, and thinner than a Paper White (I suspect this is where the fragile screen complaints originate).Case is cardboard but a nice fit (use it, screens on e-ink readers scratch easily)Fits well in a PaperWhite case (but a paperwhite would not fit in a snug C67ML case).Great battery life with WiFi turned off.PDFs load well and look good but are obviously not ideal without text reflow given the somewhat small screen size.Cons:Slow to load large books with lots of links (bibles and bible commentaries).By default, it powers off every 15-30 minutes of inactivity and requires about 30 seconds to reboot (you can set this to never hard power off and battery life lasts for weeks).Running KINDLE FOR PC APP: NO GO. I love it BUT....battery not keep to long

Il livello tecnico (dedotto dalla specifica tecnica allegata al manuale) è ottimo, la disponibilità di memoria, a bordo e opzionale, rientra nella classe dell'apparecchio a livelli più che buoni. Lo schermo dotato d'illuminazione interna, la ridondanza di funzioni implementate, la gamma estesa dei tipi di file supportati (comprese immagini e audio) e la varietà delle applicazioni installate vanno ben oltre il medio lettore di e-book e trasformano il dispositivo in un vero e proprio centro multimediale e d'informazione. visto che è dotato di web browser e di client di posta. L'unico punto debole è la fragilità dello schermo, come risulta dalle critiche che gli vengono mosse, ma è anche vero che in merito a questo aspetto l'utente attento trova un chiaro avvertimento nelle prime pagine del manuale; d'altronde basta dotare il dispositivo di una cover di qualità, reperibile con facilità viste le sue misure standard. Per il resto basta riservare all'apparecchio l'attenzione e la precauzione che merita: lo schermo non si rompe se si evitano l'incuria e l'uso maldestro.

Avevo gia' acquistato il modello precedente qualche anno fa e ne sono pienamente soddisfatto. Ora questo l'ho acquistato per mia moglie che aveva un Sony PrsT1, un bradipo al confronto. La batteria dura tantissimo, anche se ha il sistema Android non puo' essere usato come un tablet per navigare su internet, ma se non ci sono troppi video e foto si puo' usare benissimo. Come ebook secondo me e' al top di gamma. Ottimo rapporto prezzo/prestazioni.

Ereader basic. Non riesco ad inserire la pagina durante la lettura. Solo al momento dall'apertura del romanzo. Poche funzioni... Non tanto intuitive. Ma la lettura Funziona, buona la luce notturna e i caratteri.

Se ve muy bien con la luz apagada, lo único que cuesta mucho encenderlo.

This was a very disappointing device, it would be OK as an e-book reader, the screen is high resolution but slow.The reason I bought this device was as an electronic notebook and to read PDF files. The device I received didn't have the notepad application installed (as listed on the Boox website) and after installing a couple of the notepad applications for Android I can understand why it was removed. The touch screen is very slow and unresponsive, it also leaves gaps in the lines, you have to write v e r y s l o w l y.As a PDF reader it is not very good because the PDF pages are scaled to the width of the screen, to get them to an adequate size for reading you need to zoom in a lot so you are constantly moving the page side to side to read a line.As an e-reader for text files and e-pub books it is OK because here you can set the size of the text.This is an Android tablet computer with an old version of Android which can't be upgraded and with a slow unresponsive monochrome touch screen which is very high resolution. It has a very good battery life unless you leave the Wi-Fi switched on in which case it has a fairly short battery life. I has some good points but overall quite underwhelming.I sent it back. Amazon are very good wiht returns.

Schwammiges SchriftbildFlackern, SchattenbildungenGeschwindigkeit: verbesserungswürdig, kein SpassfaktorBedienung: Habe ein Standard-Android erwartet und ein BS gefunden, welches einem ungeübten Anwender das Leben recht schwer macht. Alle Funktionen vorhanden, aber schwer zu finden.Die Blätterfunktion über die Tasten funktioniert nur mit der eingebauten Reader-App oder wenn man in anderen Apps Blättern über Lautstärketasten einstellen kann. Bei Skoobe funktioniert es z. B. Nicht.Fairness: Die auf den Produktfotos abgebildete Schutzklappe/Hülle war NICHT dabei.Fazit: unterirdische Qualität. Eingepackt, zurückgeschickt.

The software is well out of date and this product shouldn't be on the market anymore. It cannot run Android apps - especially Google Books, which was my whole purpose spending the extra money on a Boox, not a Kindle. So disappointed. I thought I'd finally found a comfortable eReader for my massive Google Books collection....
