Expectations exceeded! - Great quality and affordable
I was a bit dubious at first because of the lack of solid reviews, but this camera surpassed all my expectations, especially given its relatively low price. The chassis is solid and durable, and was unharmed after a recent storm (I mounted it outdoors). The picture is very clear and comes with a large number of options. The night vision works awesome and the range is hardly affected at night. Although I generally use wired connections for reliability, the wireless connection was outstanding as well. In my experience, cameras with the same build quality and features run in the $200 to $300 range. The physical setup was fairly simple: 2 screws for the arm and 4 to actually mount the camera. Local storage can be installed easily via a microSD card slot in the roof (after removing the weatherproof-shield). If you plan run an Ethernet cable outdoors, you may want to consider buying or borrowing an RJ-45 crimp tool so you can use the weather-proof boot included with the camera and keep water out. However, I just run my cables directly inside to avoid any sort of problem, even though my camera is mounted outside. The camera pans about 270 degrees left and right, making it suitable for a corner mount. It tilts about 15 degrees up and 60 degrees down, which is pretty standard.Software setup is straightforward -- download ONVIF Device Manager from SourceForge and it will discover your camera as long as it is powered on and on the network. There is also a web interface with options specific to the camera, but most of the important settings can be set through ONVIF, including security and network settings. Any security software that supports ONVIF or RTSP streams will support this camera; using ONVIF will allow the software to control the PTZ on the camera as well. For your convenience, these are the default URLs for the various protocols (once again, you can find the IP through the ONVIF Device Manager):- ONVIF: yourcameraip:8080/onvif/devices- RSTP: yourcameraip:554/11- RMTP: yourcameraip:1935/flash/11:admin:admin

WIFI passcode won't allow special characters!
Works fine when connected to Ethernet cable, but when it comes to wireless operation it won't allow any special characters in the passcode. So you will have to downgrade your security by removing all special characters from the passcode. What little documentation there is, doesn't mention this condition at all. Also if you have a huge wireless home network as I do with more than 50 devices, it is a paramount project to downgrade the passcode on all of the devices. I successfully connected to a different router but I'm not happy that the camera nor the software will support any routing jumps so I have to share the weak passcode with my primary network for it to be viewed with the cheesy Internet Explorer based software (unsecure). I contacted Samgame support in hopes of a firmware update, but they said it will take some time. Meanwhile I guess I have to hard wire the network connection for it to work. Outside of security issues it seems to work OK.

Finally found a zoom camera that tilts UP!
Of the three cameras I have tried with optical zoom, this is by far the best. I returned the others because when I would zoom in, the tilt (up/down) angle of the camera prevented me from zooming in on objects more than about 100 feet away. I really like the Samgane camera because it has enough upward tilt capability that I can zoom and then tilt up a little to see objects farther away. This was the deal-winning feature for me!I also like that it was easy to set up.It has a mobile app, but I discovered that it is compatible with the Dericam app, so I can use a single app to view my Samgane and Dericam cameras. This is a win for me.[Update]I discovered that the system will not allow you play back recorded videos if you access the camera remotely using a DDNS. You have to type in your actual public IP address in order to be able to play back recordings (I confirmed this with Samgane support).[Update 8/28/2019]After 2 years, the IR light has stopped working (or the camera is not switching to IR mode properly). I think the vendor may be out of business as I can't access their website anymore.

Both the image quality and camera quality are great. It works great
Now that I've had this camera running out side on my deck since August 2017, I thought I'd write a review. Both the image quality and camera quality are great. It works great. The features I like over other outdoor IP cameras are the zoom and pan & tilt. It's also completely accessible via a RESTFUL API. This allows me to control it with some Python code. There's also a pretty intuitive phone app (CamHi) that you can use to view and control it (pan and tilt just by swiping the phone screen). Very pleased with it. Thinking about buying another.

Junk.
Camera became loose after using it for a month. Won't tilt or zoom, and camera is hanging loose from it's support.I'm disabled and had to hire someone to put it up for me at a cost of $120 US, now I have to pay them another $120 to take it down to return it. I thought this was a trusted seller by Amazon. The phone number provided does not work, and no reply from e-mail even though their page says they are open 24/7.
