The title says it is pony beads but you will be frustrated trying to get in hair. I used on my three year olds hair which has not thickened up yet and ended with frustration. They would be good for bracelets or other jewelry but not so much for hair. They could be used in micro braids however that would be a lot of beads and could end up being pretty heavy. The 9mm is the total size of the bead so they are the 6x9 beads and the hole is not large enough for hair, they might work better for hair if the hole was larger, otherwise I would recommend finding a 10x12 or 14mm bead. There is a seller I think crispy beauty that has the 10x12 but they are smaller packages but they are perfect for hair. Hope this review helps.
