Functional Clothing Design: From Sportswear to Spacesuits Hardcover – Illustrated, 27 February 2015

Extrêmement déçue. J’attendais impatiemment ce livre mais quelle déception… déjà, le livre arrive abîmé, avec les angles tordus, la première page qui se décolle. Pour un livre à plus de 70€, c’est extrêmement décevant.Ensuite, le livre est infâme à lire. Beaucoup de pavés de texte et très peu de schémas. Pour un livre qui traite du design, des fonctionnalités et de technologies c’est vraiment inattendu d’avoir si peu de représentations visuelles. Le peu de schémas présents est d’une qualité médiocre. Très cheap.Niveau contenu, je n’ai pas assez de recul pour estimer si c’est intéressant.

I was expecting one of those books written by someone that knows very little and uses bad photography to fill the pages. This is a university level textbook on functional clothing. It's a masterpiece on the subject.

This book is one of the missing puzzle pieces in my education to designn teh functional clothing of tomorrow. From user centric design through mobility ad materials the book adresses specific use cases like smart textiles, thermal protection, hazardous environments, spaceflight and others. All the information is conveyed in a way that its is fully digestible and easy to read if you dont have any background in the topic, but still interesting for you if you have alread some knowledge in this topic. I am searching for more books about functional clothing that are written like this one; total recommendation!
