cheap
I ordered this and the OTC 5610 at the same time so I could have two gauges for transmission diagnosis (there are two gauges with the OTC, but only one hose). This was cheaper than the OTC set, and I thought another brand might have some benefits of variety. The differences that might be useful compared to the OTC are that the gauge is smaller and the hose is thinner, but that's it. Other than these debatable size advantages, in every other way this set is disappointing compared to the OTC. First of all, unlike some reviewers, the one I received was not in a reusable plastic bag, but in thin plastic disposable packaging, which I received crushed (see picture). There is a picture on the package showing the contents, but no listing stating what they are. There is a leaflet inside listing the adapters included with three different sets, but it is never stated on the package which set this is. Between the picture and the unclear leaflet, I think I received everything, but that's based on my judgement, not clear information. Unlike the OTC, the sizes are not marked on the adapters. Most of the time you just grab the one that fits, but it is helpful to know, especially for the BSP size. Unlike the OTC, with each adapter in its own protective compartment in the hard case, the adapters were all loose in a plastic bag, and it shows. The bag looks like it could have torn open if shipping would have taken any longer, and the adapters look used. I looked carefully to see if this was a returned set, but I think the roughness and blemishes, including stains, are a result of poor manufacturing and the unprotected storage and transit in the plastic bag. I think the ride in the bag did not include overseas travel since this was "assembled in USA", but every indication is that simply means the overseas components were put in the flimsy packaging here. Unlike the OTC gauges surrounded by protective rubber, this gauge is bare, so be careful not to drop it so the case doesn't dent or the window get cracked. It's cheap enough for a name brand to get a useful gauge, but that cheapness is manifest everywhere. If you have the money, and a little more bulk in the hose and gauge isn't a problem, the OTC set provides so much more (including a second gauge with a different scale).

A fairly priced tool that does the job.
This is a relatively inexpensive tool, that does the job it advertises it will do.I used this to check the line pressures on my 48RE transmission. It worked perfectly. The gauge needle did not flutter, it responded instantly, and did not leak.It comes with a small sackful of adapters, most of which I will probably never use, but it's nice to have them. I suppose one could go purchase a gauge, get a hose made at the local hydraulic shop, and purchase the adapters as needed. Perhaps some money could be saved that way, but it sure is convenient to get it all in one place.Cons :- the fitting at the non-gauge end is a fixed fitting. It does not swivel. This means that the entire length of the hose and gauge must be turned to screw this into whatever it is one wishes to test. Perhaps a minor flaw, but annoying. I would pay an extra bit to get a fitting that can be screwed in without that hassle. However, that type of fitting is more fragile, and more likely to leak.- The hose is 6 feet long or so. I really would like 8-10 feet, or an optional hose. That would allow me to hold the gauge and drive whilst it is still screwed into the test port. I may go to the local hydraulic shop and get one made - with a different fitting. All in all, a nice tool for the job. I would give it 5 stars if the hose was longer, and the test-port end would turn independent of the hose.

Really good quality for the price
I needed this to help me on my first 4L60 (700R4) rebuild, this was the best price I could find for this tool. Comes with multiple adapters to fit to test port on the transmission. I actually left it hooked up for several weeks while I straightened out some issues with the valve body. Not having used the more expensive ones I am not sure how this one compares, but I can say it served its purpose and without it I am not sure I could have pulled off the successful rebuild.

Nice kit but needs a case
Nice kit with all the adapters that I could need. Worked well and helped me diagnose a problem I was having. The kit comes in a heavy plastic bag for storage, but it would be perfect if it came in a hard plastic case. Digging out the fittings you need from the bottom of a narrow bag is a pain, and the unit is harder to store. Unless you are a transmission tech this will be stored way more than it is used.

Next thing for your toolbox!
Bought to diagnose an oil light on a 67 Chevy truck. 2 minutes and I was assured that it was just a bad switch, and not a deeper engine issue. Comes with all the different fittings to adapt to whatever you could possibly need. Highly recommend to any DIY'er, or professional. Something to keep in the toolbox for a lifetime. Attached hose is plenty long enough to string out to be able to drive and read the gauge as well.

Value Option
This works okay but is not all that convenient. The main issues with the item is that the gauge reads from 0-300psi and isn't accurate below 20psi. Most cars run in the 40/50 psi range so it's not in the middle of the range. I think 300psi is designed to accommodate transmissions. In addition, it would be much easier to screw the hose into the block if there was a swivel or disconnect at the end. It's a bear to rotate the whole assembly to screw into the block (particularly if the port is hard to access). It comes with a mixture of brass and aluminum fittings. For one off type use, it's fine but the HF model is a bit cheaper. For regular use, I would definitely get the OTC.

This worked great for helping me diagnose issues in my E4OD automatic
This worked great for helping me diagnose issues in my E4OD automatic. I was able to have it hooked up to the line pressure port and tied up to the driver's side mirror so I could check line pressure behavior while driving.

Great gauge for testing automatic transmissions
I bought this gauge to help me diagnose transmission problems and it worked great. One of the features is it's 6' long hose that reaches as far as I needed it to and then some. It comes with a great set of adapters that make hooking it up a breeze and a pouch to store it all in. It is well built and is a great addition to my collection of tools.
