I’m truly obsessed with this Cod Jerky… But that’s because I LOVE all things CLEAN fish/seafood. Plain. Simple. Almost flavorless… For some reason I’m drawn to foods like this, ha! I love the crunch, I love the consistency albeit they’re kind of dry… But what I have been doing recently to really jazz these up and to add some high quality protein-packed bulk to my meals is adding it into my skillet where I pan fry salmon belly or skin. The cod soaks up the fat and it’s pure bliss!I’ve been eating and recommending these to people for a long while and they’re either a love or hate kind of thing. I obviously love them but my sister for instance couldn’t do them so she gave me her stash (not mad, ha)!

Smelled so bad I threw it out. Literally cleared the room at work when I opened it. Did try one. Dry, chewy, not horrible. Can’t get past smell. So overpowering of dead fish.

I hardly ever give 5 star reviews. What compelled me is this. This is a delicious ethnic food. If you like vobla, you are going to love this. If you aren't particularly adventurous, don't buy it. But please for all that's good in the world, don't buy it and then give it a 1-star review just because you didn't like the taste. This is a niche product and you are ruining it for the rest of us.It's just a smelly, dry fish. It does taste like carboard - but DELICIOUS one, if you ask some of us. Consider yourself warned.

If your a fan of dried fish this is some of the best tasting dried fish I've had. Straight from Iceland too.

Terribly fishy (both in taste and smell), "soft feathery texture" - no crunch...Very small bag for $13.79!I was so surprised that the bag was the size of a small snack bag of chips that you get in bulk at Costco! I was taken aback so much so that I thought when I get back from the camping trip, I'd return it. I mean, this little bag was literally $13.79! I did not even check the size when I ordered, assuming it would be at least $13 worth of chips! But anyway... then, okay, tried them and OMG - the texture was like a soft, pliable, feathery pad of smelly fish! The smell was not that offensive - at first! But after tasting and definitely not liking them, I closed the zip closure so to preserve the chips to return once I returned home from camping but the smell was so offensive, everyone started asking what was that smell. I tried putting them in another ziplock freezer bag but the smell continued to permeate through even that! I ended up throwing them away. However, I was so upset with this purchase that I had to write a review to let others know what a RIPOFF this product is. Too bad there is no way to get a credit for it. It was just horrible!

I enjoyed them, however they have a strong fish smell (it is fish after all), and not a lot of flavour. And they're very expensive.

I can tell this isn't made in the traditional way because this is obviously freeze dried with nitrogen. However I am Native American and I literally have dietary needs. Beef and chicken are too fattening, simple starches are too sugary, I can't drink alcohol and I'm sensitive to medical drugs ... anyway good product, could be more affordable, could improve their drying method and cuts. I wish my Tribe wasn't always giving fish to on-reserve only.
